In recent times as far as I know there has only been one heli specifically designed for four stroke engines. That was the Kyosho Legato and it was a spectacular flop. The Legato was designed for the OS 52 Surpass. Although it had enough power for hovering and mild aerobatics it was underpowered compared to the standard 30 size machine. Also, it tended to overheat very easily. This is the good news. The bad news is that to convert a Raptor 30 to four stroke would require a machinist. The gear ratio would have to be reduced to about 5 or 6:1 to accommodate the four stroke’s lower rpm. The spur and pinion gears required to do this are not available on the market and would have to be machined. Also, a new motor mount would have to be crafted. You may not be happy with clutch performance because of the lower rpm of the four stroke but I’m not sure about that. Oh, the fan would have to be redesigned or modified so that it would fit the four stroke and capacity would have to be increased to prevent overheating. There are probably other problem that would crop up while making the modification, they always do.
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm. Churchill
