I am trying to put a powerjive 120 hv+ in my goblin 630, the position that it is supposed to go means that the signal wire is too short , by about 4 inches, can I just make another one of the correct length , I can take the ferrite ring off the unused one and put it on the longer one, any problems with this or are they specific to kontronic

That is fine. You just want to run a ferrite ring. Just make sure that the wire you use is of the same gauge,

Put the woman and children to bed it's time to go fly!

Anthony, for best results, use the "toroid cable" from your Kos...closest to the Kos...then you can use extra leads as necessary....

Toroid at the Kos......and then extend...

With the Kos "slave" channel, the signal is not carried..it's only carried in the "master" channel.

Use such toroided cables on both master and slave.

It's purpose is to minimize interference to one's FBL gyros, introduced through the SBEC dual power lines.

The OP is using a Power Jive not a "Kos", with one cable only for signal. What he is recommending will work great. I have done it many times.

one final question before the fun begins, I bought the powerjive 120+hv used the previous owner said it was all setup ready to go, I've tried rading the instrictions but can't find what i'm looking for,
do I need to set the endpoints in the kontronic ,or does it self learn ? and what is the first time starting procedure, do I plug the batteries in with full throttle then go to low throttle , do I have to do this everytime or is it a one time setup, and i'm using a futaba radio all the castle esc I've used need the throttle channel to be reversed, is this the same with kontronic ?
I know lots of questions but better safe than sorry I always say
thank you in advance

You have to learn mode 1 (end points) and then mode 4 (turn on the governor). You should download the manual from the KONTRONIK site and read the instructions on how to do that. It is pretty easy to do the setup, only takes a few seconds...

You do not need to reverse the throttle channel nor calibrate the endpoints to suit the esc. The Jive does that for you. Use a default linear throttle curve for initial set up. Plug in the main packs at low throttle and immediately pull the jumper. The esc will start to count. When it first counts(beeps) to one, confirm by going to full throttle, wait for the tone change, and return to low stick. Unplug and repeat the process but this time let it count to whichever heli mode you desire (described in the manual) and confirm as before. Unplug, put the jumper back in, set your highest rpm idle up throttle curve to a straight line 60-70% and the slower ones to whatever you like, and go fly.
The uneasiness you feel thinking that it just has to be something more complicated is typical for new users. Yes, it really is indeed that simple.

Ronald-Dr. Ben, I sold him the ESC. I did a mode 1 reset then back to 4 before I sent it out because he was a bit worried about initial programming. He should be good to just set his curves and fly.

He will still have to do the end points with a different tx. Also, when you program the end points (mode 1), it resets the other selections to factory so he has to do mode 4 as well. Now if you programmed this with his radio, it is all moot and he should just fly

My bad. I forgot 1 was for setting endpoints as well.

If you have troubles doing this calibration PM me and we can do a phone walk through.

Yeah unless it was the exact same model transmitter and in similar calibration, I wouldn't want to try it without a mode 1 reset. For safety reasons a K esc might not want to arm if it detects a variance in endpoints, particularly the low side where of course the throttle is placed at plug in.

It'll take you 2-3 min to get it redone. Enjoy your new esc.
