They both have strong points. They both have weak points.

hey airfoil, don't worry, I asked this question and got no answer as well. I will find the link I saw this week explaining the differences.

Sometimes people forget we still need answers, and searches sometimes bring up so many threads it takes hours to read them all.

Mechanical mixing all the way. . . .

I have mostly top end CCPM machines, but if I were ever to consider competing in a competition I would use my mechnical mixing machine (Freya WC). I personally don't like how CCPM machines fly, and yes it feels different and yes you do notice it, and it is that noticable.

Airfoil, my advice to you would be: By the best transmitter that you can afford.

just my opinion, But Eccpm or EMS really working well relies heavily on how well your servos center every time to new positions, How well your radio system (TX) programming is at EMS, How that system sends commands to the servos, meaning does it fire off each servo at the same time or is it slightly staggard. Then it come down to the EMS design on the machine that you are using. Of all the EMS systems that i have flown the Caliber 60-90 when setup correctly seems to be pretty much equal with the mccpm systems and fixed swashplate systems that i have flown. one of those being a pro2k and the fixed swashplate system being a Imperio. I have at one time flown all three systems and have come to the conclusion that each comes down to the quality of setup. Lately i've started to like the EMS system a little more feel wise right now but it has the issue of when changing a single servo the system needs to be re-checked as that servo may center slightly different or be slightly faster or slower causing interaction all the time thus making that servo set not useable in a contest setup. As the TX programming gets better for EMS i believe that getting rid of the interaction in all the systems can be achieved. I fly a stylus radio and am convinced of the EMS capabilities to be superior to all that i have flown. Note this is simply my opinion as others are free to disagree. The stylus radio is the only radio that i know of that has a specific user adjustable mixes to take out interation with fore and aft cyclic movement on 120 degree EMS. It also has quite a few other features that make it quite nice.

To sum it up. EMS systems rely heavily on hardware, software, design of EMS system, and high quality setup. mccpm in my opinion rely on basically the hardware, hgih quality setup, and more importantly high quality design. Both systems must remain slop free in order to operate at full capacity.

rchelitek, well done. My feelings exactly. e-CCpm should be reserved for those that don't have a problem buying a 9c/ 9z or 8103/10x and three servos at over $300. Not the beginners set-up IMHO. I think a beginner is better served with a 9c or 8103 and a m-CCPM helicopter.
