Running JR8917HV servos on my Rave ENV for the past 2 summers. 30-50 flights with zero crashes or issues. Just going through it to get ready for this summer and I see that my elevator servo makes a kind of grinding noise when moving it by hand. It sounds totally different than the other 2 on the swash. I'm a little Leary of flying with it. Never had an issue with it and do not see or hear anything when it's powered up. I opened it up and all gears seem to be OK. Should I send it in for service or am I over reacting? Thanks for any insight.

That is a steel gear servo, could it be the gears are just a little dry?

Wrongler I took apart and greased them up and it still sounds the same. I'm almost thinking that I'm over reacting but I would hate to crash this heli cause of a failing servo. I'll try to make a short video of the sound it makes. My Torq's on my Goblin make a similar noise, but I have read it's common with them and I have never had an issue with them either.

Take out the gears and turn the pot shaft and see if the motor is making that grinding noise - servo plugged in and powered up.
