I'm still building it, now is the time to choose the first set[s] of batteries.
Here's my purpose and constraints:
- Focus on low headspeed and long flight times;
- Battery tray positioned to allow 75mm high batteries to fit;
- Will be using 160A ESC, so any battery with discharge rate producing more than that would probably be a travesty
- Will be using 2x6S setup, not 12S.
Not being familiar with 700 size batteries before, and reading the build manual (specifically: position the battery tray to fit 60/70/75mm high batteries), I thought that I'd be looking for batteries really that high. Made me feel warm and cozy, for I thought that I'd get gigantic batteries and fly for a long time. However, all I could find (so far) doesn't exceed 56mm on either width or height. And, so far I couldn't find any 6S batteries over 5800mAh in usual places (hobby king, helidirect, amain).
So far, it looks to me that ZIPPY Flightmax 5800mAh 30C
fits what I'm looking for the best. Most capacity, and best capacity per weight. Still, there's a lot of empty space left in the battery compartment.
Am I looking for something doesn't exist?
To make the question constructive, what's the highest capacity 2x6S batteries can fit?
