I have an etech 1200 3cell pack and recently bought a 1200 3cell high discharge KOKAM.

With the etech i can fly for 13 minutes (she's abit overweight and has a trainer gear...) before the BEC kicks in. The kokam's trigger the BEC after only 6 to 7 minutes and the last couple of minutes are really underpowered whereas the etechs give spirited performance up untill 30 seconds before BEC.

How is something like this possible? The controller is a shultze 26be (not made for helis or lipo at all but my local hobby shop didn't have anything to replace my burned up pixie)

The strange thing is that i would think that the etechs, because of there max 6 amps output would, drop there voltage (thus triggering the BEC even sooner than the kokams do) when they need to give more. The kokam's on the other hand wouldn't BUT because of the fact that the etechs fly for over 10 minutes (6C limit) I know my hornet doesn't need over 6 amps AND the kokam's aren't being sucked dry also. When i need to stop flying the voltage is stil over the nominal 11.1...

PLZ help as my kokam's aren't even being used now and i'd really would like to have some more flying / charge time.

CHarger is a HOBBICA MKII...;I know they supposedly don't get lipo's up to 100 procent...I 've seen people claiming they only give them 70 procent what seems a tad low but i know that that isn't the problem because the voltage is still high enough and lipo's have an almost lineair discharge curve so...

mmm....then it will probably be the high versus regular discharge current be that causes what I am having...right?

Kokam dose not make E-Tec cells!!! Where on earth did you get that??

The Kokam 1200's cells suck compaired to the E-Tec 1200's. the Kokam 1200's where only able to give up like 54% of their capacity at amps draws of around 6amps where the E-Tec's deliver over 80% at 6amps. There was a big to due about this on the Ezone last spring because Fred Marks had been spouting off about the Kokam 1200's being supperior to E-Tec 1200's but when he showed a disscharge graph that indicated how poorly they performed alot of people where very dissapointed.
