This sounds like one of those Champion / Autolite Spark plug arguments.

The truth is what works good for someone else my not work well for you.
like spark plug, glow plugs have numerous variables. type fuel air qualty, humidity fuel mixture, compression ratio.

What runs great in one engine can run like $hit in another, My personal preference is the Enya #3. I have a TT46 that recommended an OS A-3 and it idled very poorly, the engine ran like $hit. Changed out to an enya 3 and the engine runs like a charm.

The best advise is don't skimp on glow plugs, a bad plug has crashed as many helicopter as dumb thumbs. At the first sign of a problem inspect the glow plug, if the wire is distorted and white looking, your probably to lean. Change it and richen it.

Thank's MobileRaptor
Sound idea I used to fly pattern and some guys would fuss and fuss
with there engines and flame out with the chance of major damage
to there ship instead of replaceing a $5 or $8 plug

The good thing about a pattern planes is the glide very well, helicopters don't.

As fare as a cooler plug, some engine like a cooler plug some don't, if a plug is to cool and and the mixture is a hair to rich guess what happens? the fuel puts the fire out.

What I'm saying is their is no clear cut answer or one plug that work great in every engine. one os-32 will like an OS-8, Different OS-32 with a different muffler won't.

There are to many variables. The TT-46 (raptor 50) I have running 10% and a Enya 3 get 15 min of flight time on a std 30 tank . My other raptor with an OS-50 and a enya 3 plug get 11 min on the 50 size tank on 30 % nitro. Yes the OS 50 has more power but the tt is a lot cheaper to run. Want to know which one I fly the most.

Or maybe this one

Factory experts

Where are the OS, YS, Enya or K&B reps? I know we have Reps for Radios, Fuel and Helicopters. IMO OS (engine and plugs) is the most used brand but who is our factory expert when were looking for plug and engine answers?

What was my tag line? AMA 139721
