I wanted to know what is involved in this engine swap.

I want to take the YS .80 out of my fury and place it in my Xcell 99SE Graphite and get a YS .90 for my Fury. Can I gut do the swap or it there something else invloved?

If both machines uses the same gear ratio it shouldnt be a problem.

Look on the maingear for a number, that should be the number of teeth on that particular maingear then count the number of teeth on the pinion.

number on maingear/teeth on pinion = ratio

Clueless there is a kit for the SE if you want to use a 80 Engine As a rep from Miniature.. I do not remember the part No, but I know because I was going to do the same that you want to do with the SE, but I did do it, I am happy with my YS 60 it runs great and more power is not an ending story.

I installed a YS.80 in my Pro2K which has the same drivetrain as your SE. You will need a YS collet set and the appropriate gear set. I am running a 90 tooth spur with an 11 tooth pinion for 8.18:1 gear ratio. No engine spacers are needed with this gear combination. Power is astonishing and I still get the same run time as a 60 with the stock 9.3:1 gearing. The heli is also much quieter even with gov set at 1900 RPM headspeed.
