Santa is bringing me a R50 V2 and a TT50,

I already have a V1/ OS 32/GV1/ CSM400/ JR8700G combo with NHP carbon Mains, tail, and 3D fins

Was going to give it a CSM 560 Micro Gyro / JR8700G, any thoughts on servos for cyclic / collective?
I use JR TX/RX but I was going to use Futaba servos.
The R30 has GV1, I was going to try a TJ Pro on the 50, thoughts?
Tail blade size?
Any pre build upgrades required or advised?

Thanks Nick

I use 9252's on cyclic and 9151 on collective with an 8700 jr on the tail also with a csm 560. The 9252's on cyclic are great !!

I use the standard TJ on the throttle which is great so cant comment on the pro....

Hi Nick,

Santa is also bringing me an R50, I already had an O.S. 50 and Futaba 9252 servos to put in. I had to buy a Gy401 from Helikraft. As I write this, MY R50 is on a plane somewhere between Taiwan and Santa's workshop or does Santa make it?

If you are Bonchester on Saturday or Sunday, I may see you as I'm dayshift.

Hi Richard

Now that is a coincidence MY Rappy is in the UK waiting for Postman Pat to get off his arse and bring it to my hoose.
Its tired after a flight from............Helikraft!
I too am an OS man but the deal on the Rappy + TT50 was too good to pass up.

Its another crap forcast for Sunday and I'm on 'shopping duty' in Newcastle on Sat but we will see, I should be able to get some flying done over the xmas break so we may hook up some time.

Cheers Nick

((advice please ))

Best advice l can think of is get ready to covert you r30.lt`s not going to see a lot of flying once you`ve tried the fifty.0h,and the 601 can be got from cyber at almost csm price now the $$ is so weak.l would stick with the gv1 for ease of setting up but that just me.

Nick.

The weather forcast is crap for Sunday unless there is a change tonight.
I'm working most of the festive season, I hope I can get out at some point. I usually find that the weather is crap on my days off and great when I am at work.

CSM560 and TJ Pro would be my choice...

The GV1 is just poor by comparison...

601 is a great gyro from cyber if you are happy with grey imports (like me)

what i rekon.

9202's and NO upgrades . stock plaggy tail blades and Mains of your choice (cheapest)

that setup was good enough for 2nd in 3D masters.!!

colin..

mate , if you get propper expensive servo's you will be worried about crashing. 9252's are the bollox but not needed yet.

When you finally get your Raptor 50s, please could you post (or PM me) how much (if anything) Santa had to pay on import duty, as I may ask him to get me one

Pull that GV-1 out of your Raptor 30 & put it into the 50. The fan will interchange with out any mods so you don't have to drill any new holes, just swap fans.

I lost my infamous tag line.

advice..

If it were me I would go

JR DS811 's on elevator and aileron..(resonably priced in the UK etc..)
JR DS 8401 or 8231 on collective.

Thats what I have on my rappy 50's and they work just fine..

You will like the 560 micro & 8700g. Simply awesome

For paddles go with the xcell 3d white 3 mil ones. Very smooth.

Regards

H

Hi Nick, it's Ian - we've met at Bonchester before. I got the standard TJ not long after seeing you flying the R30 with the GV1. The final thing that clinched getting a governor for me was seeing how well a Futura performed with one up at a fly -in at Clyde View. I haven't regretted it - the power management is far better than I could have done with throttle and pitch curves. Hope you enjoy your Christmas present and might see you at Bonchester over the holiday if weather is good.
Ian.

Thought my ears were burning

Rappy flys pretty good out the box, add a good set of Mains and Tails and maybe a carbon tail pushrod kit.
