Hello all ...
I'm new to hornet world ... i get a hornet II kit and have a problem to set my gyro. I put the gyro (gy240) on the rear part of the main frame and in flight, i am experiencing problems, the hornet is acting as if i have too much gain (i'm in mode AVCS Heading hold). the heli rotate right and left and right and so on ... (i wonder if you understand my explanation because i'm french and not speaking very well english) ... so the heli is doing this movement even with a gain of 20% ... there is not much vibration and the gyro works perfectly on my piccolo pro !!!!!

Somebody have an idea ... i will check for the vibrations but if you have other ideas it will help me a lot !!!

Ciao

Check your tail linkage for slop and/or binding by removing the clevis link form your tail servo and move the push rod back and forth. Get your tail linkage perfect. That is critical for gyro and stick performance.

Also, you will need to lubricate the tail slider where it moves back and forth on the tail output shaft with "White Lithium Grease". That is the only lube that works well back there.

Be sure you use the mounting tape that came with your gyro. If hard mounted, the gyro will not work properly.

Make sure you have enough travel on the pitch slider. I had to make sure I had my tail rotor shaft flush to the outside bearing and not sticking out. When I had it sticking out about 3/16" it would spin to the left when I increased the rotor in a hover. This was because it couldn't do enough right. My 401 gyro is set to about 63% and is rock solid in AVCS (HH) mode.
