I put on my CF Hornet blades(on my Hummingbird) and the flight performance is excellent when I fly right after a charge but after a few seconds of flight I have to HOVER AT FULL THROTTLE. I put my stock blades back on and power(vertical climb) is ok with stock blades soooo...

What pinion do you use with Acro 280 6v, Etec lipoly 1200 7.4v and Hornet FP blades????

I currently have a 10T pinion.........

thanks

Same setup as yours but with 9T pinion.

I dont think 10T vs 9T can make a big difference.

I recently had a similar problem. I think I let the Li-Po pack go down under 6V (no load) just one time, and killed the pack. Be carefull, those batteries will not accept overdischarge. I had to replace my 2 E-tec 1200-2S.

In my case, now, .I dont fly for more than 12-15 minutes. I recharge the batteries before they get too low. One more thing, with Li-Po, it is not recommended to do a short pause between 2 flight, 10 minutes flight, 1 minute pause, 10 minutes flight: it will kill your batteries.

IMHO it can be your battery...

I have the same set up with an 8T pinion.

Getting exactly the same problem as you, i.e. flies well at first and then runs out of power.

Leave for a few seconds and it will shoot up, only to run out of power again.

I am using 11.1v 1020maH LiPo's which show an output of over 12V when fully charged and still show over 11V when power is exhausted.

Was getting the same problems with nimh's.

Changed motor and still not solved.

Wondering if the Hummingboard is faulty.

Any opinions views would be appreciated.

Cheers

See my comments above!!!

I had the same problem than you guys, I replace the batteries with new ones, and BINGO problem was solved, try a new Li-Po pack if you can. Or put back your Birdseed, you will see if the problem came from those Li-Po.

I have been as careful as anything since I purchased my new batteries a couple of weeks ago and because of the drop off in power it has been impossible to get them down to anything like 3V per cell.

From reading other posts just now it appears that it is the 7.2v version of the 280BB which is causing me problems.

Thanks for your input anyway

Sorry, I didn't know that you had the 7.2V version... Too bad...
So that could be the problem.
