Need some advise on following questions
1. What do you guys think should I install nylon bolts in my R30V2 in the landing skids or not?
I just don't want to break a frame cause I am always concern about the look of my heli as well so if something bad will happen I will have to buy new frames than repairing them.
Do nylon bolts prevent frames braking and if yes where can I found them?

2. There is an electronics store in my area selling various sizes plastic boxes. If I will use one of them adding foam liner as an RX protective case is it OK or should I order the quick UK one?

NO!!!

I can see it know you have a rough landing and off come your landing gear. Know what would have been a hard landing know cost you a complete rebuild or a new model.

The less time I have the more I get done.

I agree with JRMAN. Some guys use nylon wire ties. I just think the possibility of having the gear break off when you don't want it to is greater than the remote possibility that they will save the frames in a crash. The frames are also pretty cheap, and can be swapped out in very little time. I'm gettin' REAL good at it!

That's three of us, I find the skids will break before the frames in most crashes, I'm yet to break a frame but have gone through three skid sets from various mishaps, some at a pretty good clip, I thought about the tie straps in place of the bolts but didn't like the look and didn't trust them, if the skids depart or worse come half off and hang sideways off the heli your in bad shape.

As Al said, the raptor is a simple tear down and rebuild, just look at a fury for parts count and be glad you didn't smuck one of those, you can rebuild the raptor overnight in most cases if you have the parts on hand.

For the reciever case, build one yourself, you have the right idea on where to look and what to use so go for it. Just make sure it's secure and drill out a couple of breathing holes so it doesn't get condensation build up on hot days. remember it's for strength it doesn't need to be water tight.

have fun,

you're all entitled to your opinion but
the wire tie idea works very well and
I've only had 1 tie break in 3 years but
countless framesets NOT broken.
