Ok the LHS owner bought out another hobby shop and got a Moskito in the deal.
I have never seen this model before and wonder if you guys could put a date/value on it.
It looks to be a regular Moskito, but it has a trike type landing gear on it instead of the regular skids. The canopy also is more like an autogyro.

I will post a pic here in a few days.
Well more than a few days but here is the picture.

Sounds like the first edition. Looked kinda neat, IMO.

If I recall correctly, those first ones had some problems with either the tail box or tail drive. The two I flew, though, were quite solid and pleasant to handle.

The side mounted engine makes for some rather bizarre linkage arrangements; especially the throttle. And the transverse, rear-mount muffler is a bit odd-looking.

I wouldn't mind having one. The always-iffy Schluter parts situation would be my only concern.

Oops, sorry; didn't answer your questions.

Vintage would be early 90s. No clue about what it's worth. If it is truly NIB, a Schluter collector might be willing to spring serious money for one; otherwise, it is just another dated enty-level helicopter.

Thanks

Steve,
Thanks for the info.
I thought it looked neat also. I have no need for another heli though.
I was looking to fix a value on it for him so we could sell it.
It is NIB and appears to be untouched/complete.
I know that Moskitos are virtually worthless it seems, but I thought this one may be at least worth trying to sell.

Sounds like an E-bay item. We are going to be doing alot of that with the stuff he bought. TONS of older parts, but not much heli stuff.

If anybody finds a picture of this one flying that would be cool for historical value.

Mossi

I don't have much of a price answer either. Bob Johnston has a website on which he talks about the Moskito. I think http://www.bobj.co.uk
