I'm looking at getting into helicopters. I've flown airplanes for years. I'm trying to find out if this would be a good deal and a good heli to get started on. Thanks for your help.

Here's the deal, all brand new:
Century Hawk Sport 30 heli
O.S 32 SX-H Helicopter Engine
FUTK31A FUTABA 6XHS W/5-s148
PG2000 Gyro

All for $600.

I think if you are just getting started, you should find the heli that is most common in your area. This way others will be able to help you get it set up.
The most common heli to start with is the raptor 30 or 50. the parts are cheap and readily available. I dont think the 148 servos are good to use because they dont have ball bearings and will not last very long. You can use any heli radio, but I would suggest buying one that you dont need to upgrade later on. I am not familiar with t5he gyro but the futaba 401 is probably the best to start out with.

I realize I have offered opposition to almost the whole package. But I say all this to get you heading in the right direction. The last thing you want is to buy a whole bunch of stuff and have no body to give you pointers on making it work.
