Time to celebrate it at the clubhouse tonight. With some beer. Or cola. Shouldn't have drunk so much yesterday . Well at least its cheaper for me now .

The re-enactment...

It didn't lift off. Let's hope they will try it again soon.

Actually, it did lift off, about 2 feet off the ground before coming back down in a puddle on the feild. The second attempt was far less entusiastic as it seemed like the first flight took the wind out of thier sails. The conditions were OK for a second flight but the wind was coming out of the west, not the south as expected. By the time they decided to reposition the ramp the wind had died and there was not enough wind to fly. The group started the engine for the thousands of fans that waited in the rain but, never atempted to take off again.

Even though the re-enactment was disapointing, and I wanted to lead a riot after waiting for hours in the cold rain to see the flyer sit still, it was a great day none the less. The only thing missing was a 3d demo by one of the greats during the hours of cold waiting without word on weather or not the re-enactment was going to go again.

On discovery wings they showed test flights from a few days ago. The guy did get it off the ground and flew for 4 sec. The girl tried to test fly it on a day with 20+mph winds and she slammed it into the ground. So it was flown, crashed, and rebuilt before today.

Opps, saw the film last night. It definitly did not get off the ground. It looked like it did from where we were standing but Fox News tells no lies (yeah right).
