Have you ever seen a bad set of carbon frames?

Some of the aftermarket Raptor 60 carbon frames need a lot of massaging, to get them to fit. I would say they are "bad". I have the ThunderTiger carbon originals, yes they are expensive, but fit perfectly.

I have,i had a TSK Mystar that i bought from hobbies and helis. I bought the carbon version which had carbon frames that were made for him and not factory parts, The problem was they were too thin because they were stacked frame sections and he had to make them the same thickness as the aluminum frames so they would work.
They were too flexable, he would keep the original aluminum frames and substitute the carbon ones. Other TSK dealers would leave the aluminum frames in the kit and give you the carbon upgrades for the same price, as hobbies and helis. DOUG

Who would have known? I guess I have too much faith in what these aftermarket companies sell. I’ve yet to get a bad product from an after market vender.

frames

When I upgraded to carbon frames I was told to be sure to get the Revolution brand. I didn't ask why but did as recommended. I'm sure there had to be a reason.

JRMAN , yes i've heard of bad carbon frames , not talking about the quality , but the alignment on the frames with the rest of the heli , bolt holes not accurate , etc

Rick's has CS frames in all colors (including black). Notice that the frames already have the notches for the big block engines and the elongated holes in the frames as well as the bottom plate notch for the engine and and elongated holes too. You can't see it in the picture but even the shaving of the carbon for the brass strap electrical contact is done already.

Wow kewl, might have to get a set of those carbon frames? Although I don't really feel like taking my whole helicopter apart to put on some new frames, grrrrrr. I wish they would sell a motor mount that came premilled with 1.5 mm off.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick
