Anyone flying the new EVO 50 with CY MPII Pipe? I just ordered one and I'm curious to know how well it flys and how much power the MP II really does add.

Light travels faster than sound, thats why some people appear so bright UNTIL you hear them speak.

Yes, Love It

It does make a little noise, but who cares? Makes good power, I run 1850 head speed with it and it will pull +10 -10 till I can't see it.

KICK-ASS setup! I've been flying my EVO with a MVP pipe but when I got the MPII, ny evo became a screamer! Tons of power for anything - I actually like the sound! Sounds like a frikkin motorcycle - let's the plank pilots know who's boss....hehehe

OS 50 setup

My EVO will get flying in January. Setup will be OS 50SX w/ 60B carb and MP II muffler. Should be very smooth and powerful. For blades, I will be starting with CMT 600's, as I had them on my old GPH 346 a few years back.

May try TT 600's.

Do you know of where to look for TT600 blades? Whenever I find a set they're always sold out!

MPII

They are loud as heck, as you will see on other threads about the MPII. Check out Augusto's opinion about using an over-size muffler on the OS50.

The MPII was too noisy for the area we fly, so I took it off my Sceadu. I put on a Hatori sb-15 for a YS80 or 90 (after reading Augusto's comment) and WOW! It makes as much if not more power as the MPII and is very quiet. Plus, the MPII weighs slightly more the the larger Hatori sb-15.

Did you have to modify anything to make that muffler fit?

No mods required. The engine must be removed to attach the Hatori header. Just make sure that the exhaust ports are properly aligned and sealed between the header and crankcase. It's a pretty close fit.

The header's mating surface has a channel milled to except a 4mm cap screw or bolt. Instead, you will insert a 3mm nylon lock nut into this channel and attach the header to the crankcase using a long 3mm cap screw inserted through the crankcase from the other side.

A Hatori muffler clamp installs easily also. The stand-off is mounted using a pre-drilled hole located on the frame's bottom rail.

It's self-explainatory when you have everything in front of you.

ok

I did not know it was a 2 piece muffler. I already have a Hatori 60 size muffler I could try. It is also a 2 piece. I am not too fond of these 2 piece mufflers.

I have a Zimmermann muffler on the 50 engine right now, and it seems to do ok, but you want all the power you can get.
