I haven't flown my Raptorv1 for about a month and a half and I was going through it tonight and noticed that the part of the control that operates the swash plate is stiff. It is only stiff foward and backwards on the cyclic. The left right cyclic is fine. Excuse me for my lack of part knowlege but the forward/backward cyclic arm that is attached to the servo for forward backward cyclic seems stiff. So I detached the middle control arm. The servo moves fine once I do this. Now the part that the second control arm is still attached to is stiff. Should I oil this or what. If so what type of oil should I use?

I saw this exact same problem on a friend's R30 this weekend. I removed the two elevator arms (front and back arms) and removed the linkage ball at the elevator servo. The entire linkage moved freely. The swashplate seemed a bit stiff front to back without the linkage hooked up. When I hooked up the elevator arms again, the elevator cyclic was stiff. I suspect there is oil/dirt buildup in the sperical bearing in the swashplate. I told my buddy to clean everything up and we'd look at it next time at the field.
Clean the area and apply TriFlow. It is excellent and highly recommended.

Did you ream the links when you built the kit? If elevator is stiffer than aileron, I suspect tight links since there are more links in the train to the servo.

Stet,

I checked those linkages and they aren't stiff. It is the swashplate I beleive.

Tailrotordave,

I think you are right about the swash plate. I am going to get some of the stuff you suggested. Do you have a place in mind I can buy it? Also I assume it is some type of oil?

Thanks to both of you for the replys.

Use Rubbing alcohol to clean it out good. I use my fuel pump and small fuel line and it squirts really good. I have my lil bro turn the crank while i do the dirty work. After its clean i lube it goooood with tri-flow. I have some thats in a pressurised can and i spray and spray untill its lubed good. Dont want alchohol in there seens it would probably dry the oil out.
