ok...I am confused here.

I made a mistake by thinking the the direct drive tail rotor system Comes with a rotor...so... the prop is IT...

now... the small orange prop cost $6 !?
and how come it cost $1 Now!?

like... 1/6 the price in just a few days?...

or $6 is for something else?... totally confused...

anything...one thing is clear...the receiver ain't here...damn

Yeah, if you read the description of the direct drive "system", it really only is the prop. It's in the fine print. The word "system" is very misleading I thought. I bought my 50xc and TWO props for $8.49 at my LHS.

Oh wait, I just checked their site and the prop is priced at $1.00. Interesting.

Nevermind, you already said that. I wonder if they got too many complaints about it and felt guilty.

I noticed another interesting mistake in the battery section. They are selling an upgrade NiMH battery, and then below it describe the birdseed battery as a Nicad. But it is not. Hmmm.... I hope it was a mistake....

Oh...what the... that's like... rip off...

When I bought it...few days ago...
the prop was $6 bucks...(price is misleading too, nobody would have thought one prop could cost you $6 bucks. I just thought its a cheap deal for the whole thing...)

now its...$1 bucks... (which is the price it should be)

well... I am going to ask for my $5 bucks back...try my luck...
they can't just rip me off like that...can they?...-__-''

Well they probably could rip you off, it was in the fine print. It was very misleading though. Lets assume it was mistake on their part and not an effort to rip you off. Ask for your money back on it

Great service!

I just called Eric again.
He said he called Sean and found out what was going on.

The receiver was on backorder...(there should be a notice, but they are processing such volume...so I guess that's ok)

The Price drop for the DD prop will be credited back to me.

So very happy with the result.

The general experience with Helihobby is pretty nice if you ask me.

too bad I can't get it flying now...have to wait for the receiver...but oh well, I'll just set it up first and wait for now^^.

Good to see that things worked out for you at Helihobby...Always wanted to do business with Helihobby but was sceptical about service.

So which combo did you buy? And how much did you pay for customs and other hidden costs?

yup...checked the invoice.

hard to admit but its my mistake^^...

the invoice says the shaft colar and receiver are on backorder...

so I should have been more carefull...

anyways...all is set and with the receiver its ready to go...

One thing though...
apperantly the HB comes with the shaft colar (with 1 screw instead of 3) and swash ball already installed. Is this true for other ppl who order from helihobby. I mean this is pretty great.

cuz I am a newbie, it took me sometime to figure out if those things the looks like a shaft colar and a swash ball Are a shaft colar and a swash ball...haha... I am still not sure to be honest with you...^^

Only a prop!?

Check out this link.

You're not the only one confused about the Direct Drive 'System'.

?? Good VS Excellent service

From what I have read on some of these post I would not say that helihobby provides excellent service. Lets lay it out on the table. Hellihobby.com has a really nice looking web site. Its easy to navigate it does has a ton of info on there products and allot of cool pictures to look at. I made an order on December 12 for around $170.00 it was for a bunch of upgrade parts for my hummer and my brothers "he is getting one for Christmas" I thought that it would be a good idea to get some popular mods for him so he doesnt have to go through all the trial and error that I did. I paid with my credit card and as of today no package. I tried checking my order status on the link that they emailed me and it did not come up. I emailed them about this 2 days ago and recieved no reply. I just fired off another email tonight requesting status. We will see what happens. When I was putting together this order everything I selected showed as in stock. No phone number listed either. This does not sit well. I knew this before hand but I like to make my own assumptions and give benifit of doubt. Now take Dreamhobbies.com. I ordered a bunch of stuff from them and the service was outstanding. Fast Emails, a valid shipping ID number for the USPS web sight. I live in Florida and both of these companys I think are based in California?
It took 3 DAYS for my order to show up at my door. Now that should be the standard for good service. Expect a post from me on how hellihobby performs. If my order from helihobby comes in before the end of the week and the order is complete with no backorders I would rate there service as good IE meeting the standard and not exceeding it.

From my experience.
And what I saw on the forum.

90% they get you what you ordered.
Speed: Variable.(from a few days to over two month)
Easy to Contact: Not very

A lot of people here have experiences of delay delivery. However I did researchs on helihobby in forums and I found out most are just "delays". The package do arrive...no later than 2 months in what I saw. Most delays are within 1 month(custom can really delay those packages).
(for me the package arrive pretty fast.)

The main reason a lot of people are complaining is that They do not reply emails fast enough, and they don't have a phone #. Thus when people are left hanging and dunno where their package is, they get...well... Not happy.
So I believe the "slow responce time" is the biggest or THE reason why Helihobby is getting a bunch of complains(some even from me when I didn't know what's going on).

Seriously, I saw a bunch of complaints(including my own) that were just misunderstanding. If their responce was faster then I guess 80% of the complaints about them in forums would Not be there in the first place.

just my guess. maybe not true. but maybe it is.

Good point

You bring up a nice point but let me put my spin on it. I guess that communication when dealing with a web only company is a factor that must be taken more seriously. Everyone knows that when your dealing on the web that its a given your going to get screwed sometime. Its just that the internet is just one big line of communication and when you try to run a buisness on it you cant ignore that fact. Think of it this way. You hear on the street that "this guy sells some good helicopters but he doesnt have an actual store or its out of state" All you get is a phone number. You call the guy up and he says that he has all the stuff you want and at a good price so you give him your credit card info. You would feel kind of stupid doing it because you have no idea what the guy is like and you dont know how he or she handles there buisness. When you think about it the internet is the same deal that I just described except that it has pictures as well. The internet is instant gradification and when the service doesnt match up with the high quality of the web page it just makes you feel uncomfortable because you start to realize that in the end its all just a bunch of chit chat. When you make an order and pass on your credit card number the ball is now in there court. They have your money no matter who they are and it doesnt phase them a bit to send you a helicopter with no rotor head as long as they print on the bill sheet that its on back order. I think that forums like this are great because you can compare notes when dealing with online hobby shops. Lets face it hobby shops on the corner are getting few and far between and for these micro helis they are even harder to find. Thats just my rambelings for now.
