I'm not naming any names specifically, but this more or less applies to just about all manufacturers today.

When a new product is introduced, I would sure like to see videos that show the product - specifically how it works or is intended to work. What I don't need to see is a spiffy intro teaser showing the product, and then following it with 6 to 10 minutes of someone flying smack 3D.

That doesn't do me any good in helping me make a decision on the product. In fact, it does just the opposite. I get tired of watching the same flight routines rather than actual info regarding the product itself.

I assume a product is capable of flying in 3D, otherwise I wouldn't be looking at it in the first place. In order to be able to fly 3D, I feel it is a pretty well given that it must also fly well in other areas. Just tell me why it is better deserving of my attention and money. The demo pilots are all top level and do a tremendous job of demonstrating that the product is capable, I just don't need to see an entire advertising video of them doing that.

Please, just focus on the actual product highs and operations.

Off the soapbox, now.

...so your the type that would have fun at an insurance seminar

therefore:

remove heavy metal music, check
remove slo mo and other fancy video editing, check
remove the hot chicks holding and posing with the heli, check

really, its just the sign of the times, with todays connection to energy drinks, aps for everything and buzz words for any situation, a "stuffy" spec sheet read in a monotone voice is not the first thing that grabs most peoples attention. You gotta remember tha most manufacturers of performance helis are trying to lure you in with what amounts to fantasy for most of us when it come to skill. In other words its a marketing tactic and not ment to inform, but rather to show off and incite wonder, envy and lust cause thats what sells the product first

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

So you want total honesty in an advertisement?? Good grief man...do you believe everything you read? This is what forums are for ,,to cut through advertising bull****. I don't ever buy cutting edge promises ,,,,,,,,

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Really an indictment of the entire advertising industry. I put most of the blame on the public. Advertisers slick BS works on the massive herd of sheep digesting their artistic blovations.

Do we really need 4 color printing on our cereal boxes? Try muting the sound during the TV commercials, they loose their effect. I think that commercials are responsible for the ever increasing cost of products. I try to buy store brands whenever possible, but even those product's cost are seeking parity with national brands.

It makes it really difficult to purchase technical products.

Lets not go to extremes... I would not be in the hobby if it was not for all the hot chicks holding different copters.

that's about all any section of an ad not lasting more than 2.5min should be. Long ads are counter intuitive and take the curiosity toward a product away from the potential buyer.

What you may be seeing are those producers who think they know it all, want to scoop more $$$$ for longer and over produced pieces, and who have not studied several factors vital to an ad that gets a customer interested.

The recent display of the Velos880 twinny motor thing at ircha was a case of not enough in the right places, as in no video demo at least when the boys were claiming they'd flown it a hundred times. One thing to stoke the sense of curiosity, another to leave people feeling short, something not all there.

It wouldn't take an expert in human being's behavior to know what a good ad is and when someone trying to impress with everything they have, TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING, ya know.

That's my 15 seconds you should have read this in, lol.
