I live in the UK but travel to Florida (Orlando) on business regularly. Tend to stay up near UCF.

Thinking of buying a Phantom 2 Vision+ but have a few questions

1) If I were to buy one in the US, is there anything that wouldn't work in the UK. Obviously the charger would need an adaptor but is it dual voltage? But what about the RX/TX. FM is a problem because we use different frequencies (35 vs 72) but I think now we mostly use 2.4GHz it is all the same. What about the video link, is it the same in the UK and the US?

2) Can anyone recommend any decent retailers in Orlando?

3) How big is the box?

I will only go ahead if it is a good price saving. I'm also well aware of the 6.5% State Sales Tax.

Cheers,

Nigel

Well
The Phanton 2 Vision + has a control frequency of 5.8gHz and video frequency of 2.4gHz, if I read the specs correctly. I have dealt with Graves RC in Orlando and had good results but you might want to check their website to be sure they have the DJI in stock as they sell quickly.
Also check the tax in the Orlando area as some counties have a local option sales tax. Where I am it is 7.5%.

Thanks for the info.

I should have done this before asking but after I posted I tried to check some prices in the US. I used Amazon as the easy benchmark and was surprised to find US price pretty much the same as the UK price - a little cheaper but not the big margin that I would normally see.

So maybe the saving isn't worth the hassle.

The US price I saw was $1,300 which would be $1385 with Sales Tax.

The equivalent price in the UK is $1500, so a good $115 saving but probably not enough to justify the hassle.

Cheers,

Nigel
