I have hit LV on Castles and it was flyable. I have not on an Align. I did think that it could be LV cut off but the motor stopped completely and the cells were all at 3.8 immediately checked after the flight. This was after less than 3 min of flight.

I should have been more clear. I meant lv on the bx, aka a brownout. Try the working the collective fast while in TH for min and see if the BX resets.

Yes that is what I think happened. I have yet to mess with it but I think this is the sign for a new ESC and separate BEC. That is a great tip and I usually do. I did not do it this time since I was in such a rush to build it.

It was nice of the BX to land gently at least

Fwiw, the yge60 has a good gov. No tinkering required and the motor runs cooler The bec is strong but it too failed the stick bang test. I've been using a cc10 buried between the frames.

I have a Koby and KST servos on the way. I assume the KST servos have the correct horns in the pack. I did not see the horns in the description on Helidirect. Please confirm they do come with the correct ones. If not which horns are compatible.

KTS and Turngy and MKS are have the same horns. You can use Hi-Tec arms.

Thank you. I assume the servos line up with the mounting holes well?

Yes only thing depending which revision of the kit you have, you might need to upgrade your main bearing blocks. This was fixed very early , with in 3 weeks of release. I had to do it. But this is a very small chance.

I didn't think it was a fix I thought it was just an upgrade or came with the kit without the servos.

Good news and bad news! I really need that smilely that bangs his head against the wall. The good news is that the KST servos line up. The bad news is that I did not test anything before I ordered parts. The problem now is the motor spools up to full speed then shuts down. I am assuming short inside the motor? What do the veterans think? What motor upgrades is available?

No reason for upgrade. That sounds like the ESC cutting you off. Do you have another motor test with? I would test the ESC before blaming the motor.

The stock esc and a Koby which was the upgrade both do it. Right now it looks like I should have blamed the motor not esc. I will be putting a volt meter on it today.

Hi zs-jaf,

Do you have a multimeter? Check for equal resistance between phases and no continuity between each phase and the motor case. Any questions let me know.

I did check those and all seemed good. This is where I am now. I am able to get to full speed without any shut downs when I remove the motor from the heli. I thought there was a short that was only present when mounted so I to care to move the wires in every position. One thing that was strange was that sometimes throttle response was delayed and the motor would remain on with TH. I thought maybe a short in the throttle plug with the beastx. I used AUX3 as the channel and some thing. I then removed the Beastx and kept the motor installed. Motor again works perfectly. Is it possible that a motor bearing has failed and that is the problem?

Looks like you might have a short cause by motor mount screws. There is an easy test for that.

I did check for that. I think I will remove a screw to check.

Screws shortened and I thought that was it. But NO. I am stumped here. I am thinking vibrations of a sort? The heli has a very fast hum it vibrates around the bench.

I am using a Jive Mode 1 for testing also. I have updated it last night to 1.08 via the progdisk followed by a reset and then mode 1.

Is your mesh to tight? Use the paper trick (put a pice of paper between motor pinion and main gear mesh. Also post your ESC settings. Also is everything stock?
