500 size model GY240 gyro JR XP9303>>>>>>>>>>>the model has been flying good but lately noticed the tail kicks out when doing a mild stall turn or will "go further than I move the stick, Im sure you guys have an answer for this

GY 240...
you have to hover heli without gyro to ascertain that tail blades are where they need to be. Sounds as if is compensating more towards one side than the other.

so you mean hover the model and see if the tail tends to move more one way or the other w/o moving the rudder stick... right?

I don't understand when you say "without the gyro

I think he meant to fly the gyro in rate mode to see if the tail drifts

There is only one limit setting for the GY240, you need to set the servo arm further forward (around 30 degrees) instead of at 90 degrees, then set roughly 5-6 degrees tail pitch (slider towards the tail box) and hover in rate mode at your normal flying HS, adjust the tail control rod length till it hovers with no or very little drift. Now fly in HH mode and keep increasing the gain till you get a wag then back down 5 points.

60% of the time, it works every time!
