well it says August so i don't know if waiting is a good idea, you will have to preorder and hope that you get it soon, plus i think most of the new parts are already available except for the "Improved Autorotation Gears w/Reinforced Rib for More Rigidness"

Is the new V2 model going to have a new part number. On thunder tigers site it shows PN 4761-K10 for the kit. Not sure if it V1 or V2. ?

At Omni Model, the Thunder Tiger party number for v2 is TTRE0101. V1 was TTRE0100.

V1 to V2
Will the V2 upgrades retrofit to the V1? Like the improved gears etc. Heard of numerous wiped out main gears on TT helis at IRCHA.

guys I fly with passed it on to me as they watched.
I was busy down the flightline.

Anyway found lots of V1/V2 parts answers here.

Don't get me wrong I'm a Raptor guy just right now makes more sense to buy discounted V1 and upgrade as parts wear or break.

I attended the Jamboree. I myself was not aware of any main gear failures on TT helis, but that's not to say some didn't.

What I do know... is I walked into the Hobbico/Futaba/Thunder Tiger display tent and asked about the updated tail drive gear set with the new ratio. I was told it's not available yet, but they do have the updated stronger tail drive gear set.

I asked the gentleman (didn't catch his name) if I should worry about the current tail drive gear coming apart on my V1 e700. He said why take the chance, and that I should install the new updated parts.

He then told me to hold on for a minute as he walked away. He returned with a new updated tail drive gear set and placed it in my hand free of charge. I installed it that same afternoon and was out flying with a lot less worry in the evening.
Top notch service in my book from Hobbico!

I do agree with buying the V1 kits at the cheaper price and then updating to the V2 components as needed.

Some pics of my tail drive gear swap and some other random shots. Note that the auto rotation gear has ribbing from the center out. My old gear did not have that and could flex quite a bit. The new one is much less flexible.

From what I know the v1 heli and the v2 heli are the same with the exception of nemorous upgrades and tweaking of the model. I know that there are a few different head parts.. grips levers etc and The gears are different. I'm sure there are some missed upgrades in my list but the v1 is a great heli and can most certinally be updated to the v2 as needed. As far as I know all parts interchange.
