What are your issues? If you slide the battery forward an 1/4-1/2" it should CG out perfect.

Blade 300 CFX CG Issues
Hello,

I have searched thru 'Run Ryder" and some people have CG issues with the Blade 300 CFX and others do not. Not quite sure why I have CG issues with my Blade 300 CFX. Perhaps it could be the battery that you are using. I will have to slide the battery down the tray to get a good CG and hopefully the canopy will still fit.
If that does not work I may have to lower the battery tray to and re-position the battery until I get a good CG.
Stay tuned for further details

Regards, Dave

Battery comparison for the Blade CFX
Hello,

Here is a comparison of four different batteries for a Blade CFX. For all practical purposes the batteries are almost identical in terms of their size and weight.

Manufacturer Capacity W(oz) L(inch) W(inch) H(inch)
E-Flite 1350 4.1 2.7 1.4 0.9
Gforce 1300 4.34 2.8 1.34 0.79
Pulse 1350 3.98 2.71 1.37 0.94
Hobby King 1300 4.19 2.75 1.33 0.86

So the differences in the batteries do not explain why some Blade CFX copters are tail heavy and others are not

I've had a couple people PM me on multiple forums with CFX servo questions and thinking new servos are plug and play. They ARE NOT!

Here is some important info.
Please Read

Anything you change component wise on a FBL Heli you have to reset up the FBL unit. You also need to 90 degree center all cyclic servos before you mount them to the frame as you cannot access the servo horns once installed! You can fine tune and level the swash and arms later but the servo arms Must be closest to 90 degrees as possible. A good mechanical setup is key to having a perfectly setup electronic setup.

BeastX setup:

Parameters that you will need to adjust/re-setup with Hitec 5055 cyclic servo replacement:

A: Leave alone
B: Solid Blue 200Hz
C: Leave alone
D: Leave alone
E: Leave alone
F: Leave alone
G: You will need to re-level swash
H: Leave alone
I: Make sure these are moving correct
J: Need a pitch gauge here to adjust
K: Re-setup
L: Re-setup
M: Re-setup VERY Important
N: Re-setup

Flight Report: 154 flights and counting. Everything holding up great considering my inverted blade scraping, sliding autos, and grass cutting. I've never had so much fun with a backyard beater. This sure beats a flight sim any day!!!

Flight Report: Well flight #156 finally bit me in the ass. Was trying high speed rolling circles about 8' off the dj and put her in full negative. Surprisingly enough just broke canopy, skids and stripped out about 20 teeth off the main gear but... It still flies! Here is the proof, I can't kill his damn bird. As a joke after the post flight crash flight I even did a inverted TH landing. Hitec servos and electronics held up Great!

After...

A keepsake lol

Any suggestions for getting another canopy for the 300 CFX?
Hello,

Sorry to hear that you crashed your copter and busted up the canopy. I did the same thing and I need to get another canopy (and other stuff) for the 300 CFX. I have found the following alternative to getting a factory replacement for a Blade 300 CFX canopy.

Here is a link to microheli for a fiberglass canopy The microheli part number is Model #: MH-3CFX081SM Here is the link

http://www.microheli.com/store/prod...f162851808d2aa3

Microheli also makes a canopy mount set for the 300CFX (Microheli part number Model #: MH-3CFX005CX Here is the link

http://www.microheli.com/store/prod...roducts_id/2148

It would be nice if the screws for the the canopy mount set would have a "retaining mechanism" to avoid losing them in the field.

I have also found out that fiberglass canopies for the 300X will not fix the 300CFX, unless you modify them.

Do you (or anyone) know of any other choice of a fiberglass canopy for a blade 300 CFX?

Regards, Dave

I picked up a new canopy at my LHS.
I also have a couple fiberglass canopies I moved the holes back on to make fit the CFX.

Flight Report: 162 flights on my CFX now and it was finally time to treat it to a new motor, blade grip bearing kit, dampers, spindle, canopy and blades. She's all lubed up and flying better then ever with tons of power. Stock tail servo, ESC and BeastX still going strong!

The 300's Blade 300CFX, LYNX 300DFC, Blade 300X.

Question about replacing servos on a Blade 300CFX
Hello,

I need replace one of the servos on my Blade 300CFX. So the questions are.

1.) Should I replace the one servo with a OEM servo?
2.) Should I get a metal gear servo (and leave the other two with nylon/plastic gears)
3.) Should I replace all three with metal gears?

My initial thought are that all 3 servos should be "the same type".....all nylon/plastic or all metal, so that that all perform in a similiar manner

Regards, Dave

Yes all three have to be the same. Do yourself a favor now and put three MG servos in!

Routing of servo wires
Hello,

I am replacing the servos and the wires are routed under the mounting plate for the Beastx. Looks like I have to remove the beastx and remove the plate in order to remove old gyro wires? When I put the new gyroes in can I run the wires next to the tail tube so that I do not have to remove the gyro plate in the future?

Regards, Dave

You can run the wires anyway you like as long as you don't interfer with the druve belt, pulley or main gear.

Hello,

I removed the BeastX and the gyro plate. Now it makes sense why the gyro wires are routed on top of the tail tube, so that the gyro wires are kept away from the main gear.
Hopefully the sticky tape on the beastx will still work when I re-stick to the gyro plate.

I got my 300CFX back together
Hello,

This may sound like a dumb question....so here goes...
I have copter together, wires ,etc are bundled up and ty wrapped out of the way. The swash plate moves in the right direction, so how do I perform the mechanical setup of the copter before I turn it on and try to hover and then fly?

Regards, Dave
