Another option is the JR 8717...faster and more torque than the 451s, same size (where it counts). A little more power hungry, but if you're running off a 2S it should be a non issue. I'm running them off the Heli Jive BEC @ 5.6V.

yes, the 8717 are much more power hungry and actually have a hair more backlash than my like on the gears, but a good servo. NOT SURE if it fits though.

Chet, I hope you are using a buffer battery with yours.

Mounted the vbar sensor, Bluetooth module, routed ESC wires, and mounted vbar on tail mount. I'm stuffing my vbar main box into the tail.

Not yet, only 11 easy flights so far.
I'm planning on the Optipower Ultra Guard 430, as soon as they make it to the states. I'll probably up the voltage to 6V then.

I'm still AWP.. Non mission capable for supply.. Lol. I am waiting on my pinion, I need a 22T.. The 20T came with it.. I also need batts.. Or I'm not going anywhere. I have shims coming in for the elevator servo.. New aluminum horns for the servos.. This is going to be my slowest build ever.

I understand that. I'm trying to go ahead and collect the little things, upgrade my charging system, and will have to totally revamp my battery situation. I made the first step already, and cleared my Shape out Saturday. I hated to see it go, but it had to be done. It's been along time since I had only one helicopter to fly, so I need the S to show up soon. Lol

I already upgraded the charging system. New charger and power supplies. Just need batts.. Everything else I need is on order as far as I know.. Or I already have it. I can't wait to get it in the air. I'm still a little nervous about the servo's, but at least I know what the fix is if I need to change it.
That sucks you sold the Shape.. Wish I coulda given her a home..

Yeah, kind of, but I sold it to another guy in the club, that will appreciate it, under the stipulation that if he ever sold it, I get first shot.

I just got my second power supply handled, so I can set it up for 24 volt, so I'm going to grab a new box, and redo the while setup.

As far as batteries, I had already outgrown them. It's past time for better batteries with higher C.

Looking forward to seeing yours built. It looks great!

Thanks J! At the rate I am building, you and I may finish at the same time!
Got the motor wires soldered to the connectors today and got the kosmik partially mounted.. Gotta find a way to hold the front down since I'm going to have to cut the front lugs off the ESC according to what I was told.

Haha, I doubt that. It looks like you are moving right along and should be ready to go by the time you get that pinion.

Who said you have to cut off the front lugs? Does the kosmik not fit in the fuse
Also your missing 200 amp fuse

Gerd, the guy who makes the heli, said that...

And the fuse is not missing, it's not installed because it too gets in the way of the canopy.. I have not devised a clever way to install it yet, but I will.

Craig..... i was confused i guess you have to cut off the mounting lugs? Can you put the fuse inline, meaning not connect directly to the esc but between esc and batts?

Yea.. It's the mounting lugs that have to come off.. And most likely having the fuse inline will be my only option. I am going to wait until I have the fuse on to figure that out. I don't think it will be that hard.. Just one more little thing to figure out. Thanks for your idea.

So here is what will probably happen with the fuse.. I mocked it up on the bench.. You may also admire the black Allen bolts.. They can be found at your local fastenal.. I am changing all mine out for these.

I don't see why that wouldn't work great. Will you lengthen the positive side?

I will decide the length of the actual setup after it's all put together and batteries are hanging from it.. But this is a basic mock up.
