Hi all,

After I finishing assembling the head of my new 700 Pro DFC kit, I noticed the main grips are tight on the spindle. If I back off the spindle screw a bit, the grips rotate smoothly.

I've double checked the parts and couldn't find anything wrong. I believe this might be caused by the new hard dampers putting pressure on the grips rear bearings, and this might be gone after the first flights.

I'm curious if any of you have this happened before I keep going on.

In addition, I want to mention if you're considering using retaining compound (R48, the green stuff) in the grips outer bearings, think it twice. After using it when I assembled the head, I'm now having a hard time clearing the retaining compound residue left inside the grips. The bearing removal was easy using heat (400F because R48 works up to 358F according to specs), but clearing the residue inside the grips is another story.

Thanks,

David
