JR and Futaba are so conservative it is incredible. Both make great hardware, but look at Jeti, Mikado, and even Spektrum all offering options way ahead of the "big two".

My hat is off to Mikado, it takes vision and perseverance to do things no one else has done yet.

JR and Futaba better be taking notes.

Did they hyjack a big name radio designer? I mean, this is quite a big step by a company known for high quality FBL systems. I know they are good with the V-Bar, but do they really know what they are doing with the whole radio system? It sounds like the development time has been 2 years or more. That seems reasonable for a high feature system.
Did they partner with another radio firm? Is that why it resembles some other radio offerings?
I have the feeling Futaba may have something to do with the development of this radio. It's using FHSS as a signal protocol, the RX looks like a Futaba S-Bus RX, The wireless Buddy Boxing and ability to have another Vbar Radio bind and fly one model reminds me of the data and settings transfer capabilities of the Futaba T8J. I would not be surprised if this radio is able to transmit to Futaba Rx's in the near future making the radio compatible with no Vbar units like BeastX and Ikon making the radio as useful as all of the other brands on the market.
Overall I think if the price of this radio is in line with JR, Spektrum, Futaba and others I think they may have come out with a real winner.
yep i knew it them 2 long wires are just like my futaba long range rx
boy im glad i waited before i bought a new tx

all my copters must have vbar gyros now .
would be nice if you could control any gyro with it .

JR and Futaba the "big two"?

I'm pretty sure Spektrum outsells those two combined!

LOL.

Reminds me of the 11. I went to school with Josh, just not a fan of his movies.

For those wondering, Mikado has already announced that the software will be updated this summer to allow for use with fixed wing.

Well after reading a few post on page 6 or 7 this appears to be a Mikado designed product without the assistance of Futaba or any other company but Man does this thing look like more than one hand was involved with this.

Not sure if this was covered in this thread or not, Is anyone else wondering how many oops's will occur in the pits with this model sharing feature. I hope there is something that has to be done to bind any Mikado radio to any model with a Vbar.

Don't the Futaba radios already allow control of the Futaba FBL systems? I don't know because I never owned one. But it seems this is not really a new idea.

Really? You can completely set up the Futaba unit from the radio? From step 1 to step N? Nope. Not even close!

Yeah, exactly. Two wires which also appear on the AR7200BX and a few other Spektrum receivers.

But you can set it up in the field without a PC or Bluetooth module so all said...It's a push. They can both be set up with nothing but the heli and the radio.

If V Bar weren't so proprietary there would be no need for the new radio....You cannot set up a V Bar without either their computer software or their Bluetooth module...All they've done is add a third option you can buy from them to set up a device you already paid a lot of money for.

Don't get all wounded by that comment...It's not meant as a bashing. It's just a simple fact.
