Looks liks Mikado has set a new standard in Radio's. It woould be great if JR or Spekturm would come out with something that would work together with Beastx and other FBL units such as iKON, Skookum etc. thats a pipe dream I know but it wold be awesome!

If all your helis have Vbar then no need to bring a second radio to the field.

I'm personally a die hard Futaba FASST fan, but this really intrigues me and if the price is under $2k I will be picking one up to try it out. All my helis have Vbar though, so that makes a big difference. Also very happy to see their antenna arrangement is Futaba style and not Spektrum/JR style. Gives me more confidence in the 2.4 technology they selected.

I think it's safe to say we will see a new Silverline Vbar soon with integrated 2.4 RX/antennas for Vbar Control. Glad I held off on buying those. As someone else stated above, kudos to Mikado for continuing to develop new products that are backwards compatible. I have three older black Vbars that will work perfectly with Vbar Control. Not many manufactures are that considerate.

I would like to know more than price, such as latency, 2.4 methodology, hopping, shifting, specific details. We learned throughout the growth of 2.4 technology that all 2.4 implementations are NOT created equally, especially in ever increasingly noisy 2.4 environments.

Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.

I can imagine this will be another very expensive Radio!!... Wouldn't you guys think a bigger screen would make this Radio more attractive aside from all it's features?... Just my 2cents

I hope to see this transmitter in IRCHA.
No complaints about it.
This is new for Mikado and they can not start with a super fancy Transmitter that just few could buy.
If this Transmitter has a good sale. There will be few more models to come.
Just my two cents.

How do you charge your cell phone and or laptop batts?

Its really not an issue. Im sure it has a built in regulator just like my DX9. Down side it only charges at 200mAh so it takes all night like NiCd did but now only once a month unlike every weekend.

Does it have an earphone jack? In a noisy field, the "tone" you will hear but not the voice. The voice is a key feature for certain alarms.

Needs a womans voice.

Vbar Control

Wow! Mikado you hit it out of the park!
Totally eliminates the only complaint I had with Vbar, solves every problem you could have operationally. This is incredible!
Can you move Vbar Control from Heli to Heli out do I have to buy 12 of them, also does Vbar Control become the sats?
My oh my a whole new era.

EscobarYou quoted yourself not anyone else my friend. As far as how small the radio physically is I can not say, however if I were to guess it is tad larger then 8fg and likely close to a 14SG size? Remember Kyle is not exactly a small fellow, quite tall n all... We'll need to wait to see it in more folks hands escobar, meanwhile take a happy pill and enjoy your day!
Dude you're crazy!... I didn't know you see what I see,
I know dhald to be great pilot but not a giant but, he look pretty small with the logo 800, "the way that things sit in the palm of his hand wow" , I was wondering if it was a match box tyco stuff just got professed:,

It does look small in his hand. I don't fly Mikado , I think its looks like it flies very well but what I don't understand is after spending that much money on a FBL unit, you have to pay for any upgrades? why is this?

I still have to bring two radios if I where to get this, just for a setup tool inside my radio. I do fly other things like multirotors and planks. $2k is way to much for a radio with no diversity. I can do the same think with my $200 Nexas 7 tablet and bluetooth. I will stick with my Futaba 14MZ.

Very interesting and game changing. Now it's time for the other companies to play catch up.

The real-time vibration analysis is especially cool.
well done Mikado for being the first to think of this great idea
They are not the first to think of the idea. Just the first to execute it. This type of capability has been discussed for many years now. I'm really glad someone brought it to market. It should motivate other companies to do the same.
Also very happy to see their antenna arrangement is Futaba style and not Spektrum/JR style.
What exactly do you mean when compared to the DX9 and DX18 (dual antenna) and AR7200BX (dual coax antenna)?

Uhhhh there is antenna diversity in both the Mikado TX and RX. What are you talking about?!
The Vbar Control is the receiver, right?
Yes, that's how I interrupted it. The Vbar Control unit is similar to say a Futaba 6202SBW with a single SBUS connector to the Vbar unit. In other words an external satellite with diversity antennas. Instead of a standard servo input Mikado used the control panel input presumably for more connections/bandwidth for the two-way telemetry, etc.
Can you move Vbar Control from Heli to Heli out do I have to buy 12 of them, also does Vbar Control become the sats?
I don't see why not, the video tells the story all of the programming is located in the Vbar unit itself. Think of the Vbar control unit/RX simply like the bluetooth module. It's nothing more than connectivity, and doesn't store any specific programming. You can easily move your bluetooth module from Vbar to Vbar and I expect this new control unit/RX to be the same story.
