And the confusion starts again. LOL

Updates - free
Upgrades (to pro that is) - not free

I'm not being picky...don't really care but I see some get frustrated with the interchange of the words.
I simply know that if a vbar is selling for $350, it's really about $390 plus a little fun playing around in the registration site. Simple.

It would be simple huh?

Go to Mikadousa.com and click on the one you want.

Do away with the registration and downloads and uploads.

Just buy the one you want...Why not?

Because from a business perspective it doesn't make sense to have two SKU's for the same identical hardware platform.

Mcracken, forget the fan boys, many of us still think and some KNOW that the online update for firmware is a scheme. Your fool for paying that much for an update, while nobody else charges for updates.
The update is not mandatory. What you're paying for is additional features just as you would with any commercial software package from Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk, etc. Just look at all the different versions of Microsoft Windows from Home to Ultimate.

The nice thing is that the software isn't locked onto a specific hardware platform so you have the option to upgrade rather than having to purchase a new hardware platform. Just imagine if you had to purchase a new computer to go from Windows Home to Ultimate. I applaud Mikado for their software licensing practices.

I just hope the big V shifts colors like the full size units....
I heard it was upgraded bulb you had to pay for but the software update was free....

All kidding aside, Ghost did you happen to take a drive to Bakersfield for first hand experience? Looks like its molded plastic on the front, guessing this thing is light weight and battery is vertical along the back to keep balance.

Ah good point...

Hey now! Wait a minute...You said...but...uh....

I'm glad you mentioned that though because if I want a PC with Windows Ultimate,I am NOT forced to buy a PC with Windows Home and then buy the Ultimate upgrade...I can buy either version I want right straight from the PC store and by buying the Ultimate version straight from the start,I save myself a little money as well as time and hassle and I cost the manufacturer nothing in the process...They still get paid.

In all fairness Ernie, you're talking about a whole different scale with the computers. No matter how you slice it, it costs more to handle the logistics of having the different SKU's. With high volume items, this cost is amortized to a small amount.

A very simple example. Let's say a distributor gets 10 vbars. 5 express and 5 pro. Then the next 8 orders are for pro.
Then imagine the cost of the guy at the factory sitting at the registration site scratching his head. Just kidding.

It's not complicated at all and the cost would be nil.

You send 150 of each to Mikadousa.
Then the store orders what they need to replenish stock.

If they sell 90 of one and 60 of the other, you re-order those numbers.
If they sell out of one and sell none of the other, you back order the out of stock item(and don't try to tell me V Bar is never back ordered)and re-order the appropriate number to re-stock and cushion the next sales period.

It is far from complicated.
The smaller numbers make it easier and less costly. Not the other way around.

V Bar Pro is a good product...Worth the extra money.
It would sell and it would probably increase the sales of the Pro software.

Girl Scouts manage it every day.
How many Thin Mints?
How many Oatmeal?
Gotcha,we'll hook you right up.

The scale is different, but the principle is the same. It just doesn't make business sense from a manufacturer or reseller perspective to have multiple SKUs for the same hardware platform.

I got you McKrackin. Should it cost a little or a lot, I don't know. But it does take effort. That's all I'm saying. Those Girl Scouts work really hard...I just bought some from one of their dad's.

Ace, I think you mean it sometimes doesn't make sense. Because sometimes it does make sense. Like if it's a nuisance to your customers for example.

That's MY point but I guess it will never become a nuisance if no one is allowed to complain about it

I was talking about the firmware update to Vbar Pro, you guys are waay into the future with this one, some of you can already see yourselves telling your rich friends "hey Buddy, guess what I got a month before it came it, hint, its got a big V in the middle and uses a one S lipo?"
and I only paid an extra $500 to get it before its release!

its light humor at the end get over it.

Addressing fan boy trilogy this's a trial of what?
Me playing monopoly with German'es products......I mean what I said and I don't care what your view on this is after that.

You can say the thing fly rights of the box if all you do is hover tail on. But thank heaven if you would do some extraordinary thing with it then you'll share my spot:.

"You have to agree to disagree maybe you're the guy that love monopoly when you're the looser just saying, 'ok let me brake it downs " why would you support a manufacturer that make a radio and sell it
With no Nab or switches) and them later sell those as an update/upgrade) I can't simplify this anymore than this.

"Or maybe you don't know the difference between software/hardware/firmware etc" ?........! The only thing free on there is the software. "The other particles
Is $35 EURO rounded to almost $50 US. So if you find a jack Rabbit around here it goto be you sir/madam.

Ok, you think it never makes sense and I think that sometimes it does make sense. Got it.
Anyway, I think we've gone on about this a bit too much. We're messing up the advertisement.
The pro is a 40 dollar upgrade and is a one time thing. Less effort than all the discussion.

There are exceptions to every rule. The vast majority of the time it doesn't make sense and it certainly doesn't make sense for the product in question.

By the way, the Logo 700 Combo Kits come with Pro installed.
