Why has the dual motor 3DD concept abandoned by Gert ????

I have one of the original 3DD's with 1 stage gearbox and tail rotor shaft drive, this is definitely the best heli I ever had, bar none of the new ones, including the new minicopter ones which all have the tail rotor driven by the main motor.
Its mechanics are so simple and effective that even after several hundred hours flight I have changed absolutely nothing, everything is stock from the time I built it (2010).
With the same batteries, it flies about 15% longer than an equivamlent traditional 700 class heli with main motor driven tail rotor.
Like everybody else, I have now switched to DJI multirotor units for AP and video but when I want to fly for fun, I alwas take my old trusty Joker 3DD which really blows everything else out of the water.

I just guess that this very inovative concept was not really accepted by the majority of Gerds client, i.e. the very traditionalist american flyers, too much change from the usual heli single motor concept they were used to.

I work with big industrial electric drives and 3 phase motors very similar to our electric heli drive systems and nowadays when we have to implement several different rotational functions, we ALWAYS use one drive (ESC) and one electric motor per function and NEVER use the same motor and mecahnical gerabox devices for 2 rotary functions, specially if they do not run at the same RPM's and power, this is more efficient, generally lighter, much more reliable and even cheaper so why bother with powering the tail rotor with the main motor, it does not really make any engineering, economical or commercial sense.

I hope Gert was in advance of its time with this concept and that it will come back when everybody realises that it is a bettre way to engineer an heli.
