Just added the new spindle and thrust bearings. Still needed to use my McMaster Carr shims behind the dampers to get rid of the jiggle.

Well, Don, we've tried both sites and still no reply from a rep. In time, I guess.

I've got an email in and will hopefully be able to let you know what's going on. I have an X50 as well and would like to know about this.

I installed the new spindle and thrust bearings only. The old grips seem to work fine. What's different about the new grips?

Ya'll chill for about 24 hours so I can confirm exactly what is and is not a requirement for converision. We were told the grips are needed, but then I did read the post about everything seeming to fit fine the existing grips.

I'll let you know.

Dr Ben
can you find out if the flybared grips work with the new thrust washers
and does anyone know if the new washers will work in the quick uk metal grips?

I put the new spindle/thrust bearing/washer combo into a set of FB grips. I haven't flown it yet, but everything about the grips feels the same as before.

Yes, confirmed. You do NOT need new grips, just bearings and spindle.

If someone will measure of the OD of the old versus new thrust races, we can confirm all legacy fittings especially with the FB grips and any aftermarket grips. My bet is that given the fact that the new bearings/spindle fit existing FBL grips, then they will likely fir everything, but do not quote me on that yet.

I had figured that TT had enough engineering common sense to not orphan every existing set of FBL grips out there with the new spindle and thrust races.
