I'm new to the talon 90 going in my 550e V2, I had the align esc fail . Im really just curious if there is anything I should know about running this esc with the vbar. I have everything hooked up and did gov mode on the esc. Not in the vbar. Never have in the vbar. I have the esc plugged into esc/collective on the vbar dark color up. Its a full size vbar. So do I just hook the battery up and go or will the endpoints be tricky. Also if I didn't use gov mode and did fixed endpoints is that hard with a vbar. ? Any help would be great . I'm just a little confused.

Thank John

The end points will not be tricky.. The vbar will output to the ESC exactly what it receives. I don't know what setting up the governor on that particular ESC is like because I have only done the vbar gov and the kosmik gov. The kosmik learns from the transmitter inputs what full up/full down is. You may have to play with it.. But I bet it's not that tricky.

If you haven't done the endpoint calibration for your transmitter, go to the CC webpage and look under tech support for the document on how to calibrate endpoints. There is some confusion on whether you need to be in fixed endpoints or if you can be in governor mode when you do the calibration, but I have talked with Castle and they say it is OK to calibrate in governor mode, and the procedure is the same.

I know I do mine in GOV mode.

Also what servos are you running? I don't know the BEC output capability of the Talon, but if you are running HV servos, the BEC output might not be enough for them.

The 550 is approaching a 600 sized heli, (and the last one I saw actually cane with a 600 boom and TT for stretching to a true 600. The owner indicated he liked the 600 size blades much better.

Good luck.

Talon 90 Vbar

Im running the v2. Not dfc. I have ds615's and the 600 mx motor . Its the 550 boom and 520 blades. I was actually planning on switching from gov mode and going with fixed end points. I called castle and told them what I had and they said the bec in the Talon was fine. I think it has the cc bec pro built in it. I guess really when I power it up Il know weather or not the endpoints should be adjusted.
