I have been following the new multi-rotor line SKY-HERO for some time now. This is quite an amazing product that really broke the mold for multi-rotors. this product is extremely high quality and the brain child of some guys over in Europe who invested everything into making such an amazing product. And in Europe the model is extremely popular. Starting to see more in the USA now with shops like helidirect.com / A-Main / and ready-heli (before they closed) all selling the original.

I was skimming through some multi forums and when I stumbled across this it just blew me away.

The criminals over at Align have basically cloned the damn thing and plan to start sales very soon.

this is just crazy. For such a huge company like Align you would think they could come up with there own ideas. For me this is the straw that broke the camels back. I will never consider one of there products again.

These sky-hero guys are just regular guys with amazing ideas that have really started to make there place in the market. And here goes Align. Trying to crush them.

It's such a shame, because the small companies and new ideas are so important to this hobby. But at this rate with Align willing to take a completely shameless approach things are headed in the wrong direction.

Eventually the new ideas will quit coming and we will be stuck with Align trying to clone a vaccuum or something else and make it fly. the creativity and spirit that pulled most of us into this hobby is being crushed by a company that has no moral boundaries.

I have include some pictures of the original SKY-HERO below and The Align copy cat. Keep in mind the SKY-HERO has been around over 1 year now.

Feel free to chime in and give your 2 cents.

You could make that argument about any rotary wing aircraft. They are all copies of what was once an original idea. It all boils down to features/performance/cost. The company that can deliver on the features/benefits/cost will win.

Not sure what it matters anyways. You may not buy from a company that copies another product. But there are millions of people who will, especially if it is cheaper than an original. After all its all about saving a buck.

What's any different? Align has never been a forerunner in technology. They copy others then people copy them. It's like a fax, do it enough and the quality drops

And that applies to more than just helis.

I smell the slight hint of an ulterior motive from the OP.

Jmarks,

I 100% on board with what your saying. I just purchased a Sky Hero Spyder 850 and am enjoying the build greatly. I love seeing new ideals that take the market by storm and the Sky Hero is one of them.

It's upsetting the see Align copying away like they do, but others who have chimed in are correct. The company that can bring it to the market the best wins.

I'll continue to try to support the little guy the best I can.

Thanks,
Chris

And not against Align making multi rotors. Just cant believe such a huge company wouldn't want to make something original.

Not to add fuel to the fire but I think all multi-rotors look the same and from the pics you have of the Align multi-rotor its hard to tell what they copied. The boom design is completely different. I dont like the copy cat game as much as the next guy but its not going to stop and if the quality is there they people will see that and go with the better one. Just look at JR Vibe 50 and the JS Models TZ 50 almost carbon copies, but people still buy the JR over the TZ due to the quality of the model and parts. Just my 2 cents

Trying not to put them in the dirt.

They don't look like copy to me.
To me, copying means clone. Their parts are interchangeable (eg. there are many clone Trex 450 out there their parts can be used for original Trex 450). I don't think in this case their multi rotor parts are interchangeable.

If we are talking about "copy" means their shape looks similar, then I think most heli on the market are a copy of each other. They all have same structure like main shaft, main rotor blades, tail boom, tail boom support braces, 2 main wheels etc...

clone the clone and improve upon it next generation, and, adjust the price to suit.

Economic war? Many very hungry mouths over in the east, many many many, want what the west has. Who you gonna blame?

Remember, necessity is the mother of invention.

Funny how progress is going regarding technology. The Germans invent it, the usa consumes it, the Asians copy it, who will be at war with who?

CLONE THE CLONES, confuse the marketplace, its anyones only recourse in the world we live in now. It's too late to turn back the clock.

You don't have to like things nor agree, just consider the possibilities that's all.

"They don't look like copy to me."

Come on are you serious? ??
Same arm design
Same motor support base
Same body design
Same leg design

Even if all the parts are not interchangeable still a copy!
If we not stop supporting this type of business practices the quality of our equipment will go down!

Align is the most cloned heli in history.lol...
Who's to say the Sky Hero isn't the clone? It went on sale first? That means nothing.

It's possible that Align farmed out the work on the multis and the hired help produced and sold it themselves.

Happens all the time.

I literally never use the word literally right.

I would like to see them clone the Whiplash line...this way we will have parts for a long time! There's a method to my madness. If you can't beat them...use them!(for what they are not intended for)

Yeah...He's bragging and bashing on Facebook with the Sky Hero guys.
Tagging Alan Szabo and going on about F### you Alan and Piss on Align.

Tagging all kinds of people and splashing all kinds of childish garbage on my timeline even though I'm not a subscriber or friend.

I finally had to start blocking them.
At least there, they can just delete comments from people that they don't agree with.

I literally never use the word literally right.

you want stuff to not be cloned anymore...

use SAE everything...bolts, frame dimentions, bearings...

that way when people try to order cheap clone copies...thier metric copies will not match anything...when they try to return them, get no response...god knows they can't seem to copy a decent SAE thread pattern without serious slop anyway...

hows that?

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...
