It's coming!!

The machine will be somewhat like the 500 stretched with different frames, battery mounting, full size servos, bigger canopy, etc., 6S or 12S capable, great performer for sure!

No price point yet

No solid release date

No pictures as of yet

That's all I know

But it's coming!

Helidirect has a preorder for it now, shows will be in stock 3/12/14.

I myself will keep my 500s maybe buy the 570 tail boom and belt so I could run 550 blades.

Other then it's a new Helio SAB really did not do much on this but then again there are a lot of folks out there thats got to have the latest and greatest so maybe they will make a lot of pre order sales.

The sad part is there are still kits of the limited in stock at helidirect and if SAB only made 100 kits for the world then I'm thinking HD did not get that many and they are still in stock.

Hmmm maybe sales on SAB kits are slowing down.

Well I am in for one. I liked the size of my Trex 550. The G500 is just a tad too small for my taste and I have everything to put right into the 570. I like the ability to run it as a 6-12S machine. I really enjoyed my Furion 6 on 10S. I was really looking to get another single pack machine.

As far as sales go we are in a seasonal hobby and its winter so I imagine sales have been down on all brands.

Well the last time I check you can make almost any helio out on the market a 12s bird, so thats nothing new. I can run 520s on my 500 which makes it as big as the 550( yes you can put bigger blades on a 550 but then again I can put bigger blades on my 500).

But that is what makes this hobby so great to each there own and whats new today is old tomorrow.

Seasonal? it flying season year round for me. LOL.

I agree with jadams being able to run 12s and new frames is a big difference to me. I'm definitely getting one for sure.

Love it. Can't wait to get it in 2 Weeks. Now just have to decide if I want to run it on 6S or 10S (already have 5S packs)

I pre ordered the yellow/red one but that black/white one is mighty sexy. I'm just afraid it might get a little hard to see on those cloudy days. Maybe I'll get that one too for the sunny days

I have a few 550s and was interested in the SAB until I saw the price. 700 for a basic kit is too much for a 550 IMO... but I am sure many people will buy it anyways, Goblins are everywhere.

I would like to see a smaller backyard version of the Goblin myself.. In a true kit form too. I want to pick all my electronics, but a 300 sized goblin would be BA.

Kit includes main and tail blades for $699. In this hobby and as with buying other products, you get what you pay for.

with sab that is not always so. I think they should be working on fixing the crappy paint poor machining before releasing more models

I have no problem paying for quality. I have purchased multiple MinAir helis, an Aurora, JR, Hirobo, Mikado, Synergys, etc. I just think $700 is too much for a 550 kit. I would much rather see it offered without blades at a lower price. I already own 8 sets of 550 blades (including 2 sets of SABs) and plenty of tail blades. It would have been nice to see a lower introductory price, although like I said above, people will be lining up for them.

Crappy paint? Overall I am impressed with all manufacturers paint jobs. Some do slightly better than others but a they have all sold a bad one in a kit. With the canopy designs and the need for flexibility I think they do just fine. They're not painting Corvettes, let's be realistic here.
