With the new version 1.31, during setup, specifically the Aileron rate, does the Rate percentage shown in the CGY750 matter anymore? I remember the previous software, it was desired to get the rate percentage 60% at 8 degrees of cyclic pitch, now with the new software, is the goal simply to get the AIL pitch in the 8-10 degree range, regardless of the what the Rate percentage ends up being? Reason I ask, I just set up a stock Trex 600N LE 3G FBL, using the inner holes of the Align servo wheels, and to get 10 degrees on the AIL pitch, the CGY750 is around 53%, and to get 12 degrees of collective, the CGY570 is around 38%. Seem OK? Just didnt know if there was a preferred percentage Rate anymore.

Also, setting the Swash Ring - just increase the value until binding, then back off a little bit? What if the value gets maxed out to 150% and there is no binding? I assume, then one would probably need to move the links out on the servo wheels at that point - and then go through setup once again?

Thanks in advance!

Steve

this is the way I understood it, but I'm sure Dr. Ben will come on here and clear things up...

say you set the roll rate to 720 degrees per second (which is fast)...but if you don't allow the aileron rate to have enough movement it wil not be able to achieve that roll rate...

as for the swash ring...not sure, I never needed the swash ring on my bird...

the only time i ever had binding issues was with a FB head.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

Do you have a copy of the updated CGY750 manual for 1.31 software? It's available for download on Futaba's homepage. On page 19 you will find some tuning information regarding cyclic setup for 1.31 - it calls for at least 9-10° on aileron & elevator while keeping the rates between 50-70% (and ensuring aileron and elevator rates are the same value). Another important thing to note here is that the cyclic range should be measured while the gyro is in the AIL/ELE rate menu, otherwise values will not represent actual pitch ranges.
I'm assuming the pitch rate will be whatever gives you the desired pitch range with your setup, and is not expected to be the same % as the cyclic values.
I also have no experience with the swash ring.
The short answer is that your AIL rate of 10° at 53% is within the desired range, but is your ELE rate the same?

Set for at least 9-10 degrees measured in swash AFR mode with the required percentage falling between 50 and 70%. Keep the % for AIL and ELE the same. Lower percentages for the PIT are acceptable.
Also, setting the Swash Ring - just increase the value until binding, then back off a little bit? What if the value gets maxed out to 150% and there is no binding? I assume, then one would probably need to move the links out on the servo wheels at that point - and then go through setup once again?
I seriously doubt you will see the swash ring go that high. Keep the % as high as possible without binding up the swash.

Ask more if you need to.
