Seems to me that getting the drive shaft in the boom with 4 bearing support cups on could be a chore so here's what I did. This made it really easy to get the assembly together.

1. I marked then lightly scraped and cleaned the mount points for the bearings. scraped with a knife and cleaned with rubbing alcohol. Idea was to give a surface for the glue to really bond to. Cleaned the inside bearing sufrace on the 4 bearings also with the rubbing alcohol on a paper towel to get rid of the surface oil.

2. Epoxy'd the bearings in place and left it sit over night.

3. Here is the trick. I put a bit of thick silicon grease just on the inside of the boom. Then I took one of the cups and also spread the grease on it. Got it started into the tail boom carefully so it doesn't get damaged, Took the long clear tube that the drive shaft comes with and pushed that rubber bearing support all the way through. The first one puts some grease on the inside of the tail boom, making it 'wet' - Repeat for the other three bearing supports so they will slide easier also.

4. a bit of silicone grease on the inside of the bearing cups makes them slide over the bearings pretty easy. Once they are all in place I was able to work the drive shaft into the tail boom pretty easily. If feels solid and straight- "it's right"

Some construction pictures. Head and tail are built, loctite in the right places, greased the thrust bearings. Thanks to Dave for letting me use a set of drivers for the spindle, made that an easy task. For some reason I found motivation to remove the main shaft bearings and the motor shaft support bearing and push in some fresh grease using "The Greaser". Not sure if that helps or if I'm just making a big mess but I did it.

Really like the way this is coming together. Tolerances are very tight.

A couple of design items I really like - The landing gear setup with the pinching LG struts, big fan of that. The one-way clutch assembly is a nice design. Main shaft retention system is interesting.

Should have my motor and ESC in this week. Went with an Align 800MX 440KV and the Edge 160 with the fan.
