Im pretty sure you want the 550kv motor on 12s.

I think the 610kv motor is designed for 10s.

Goblin 630:
Ratio
18T Pinion = ratio 11.3:1
19T Pinion = ratio 10.7:1
20T Pinion = ratio 10.2:1
21T Pinion = ratio 9.7:1 (stock ratio)
22T Pinion = ratio 9.3:1
23T Pinion = ratio 8.9:1
24T Pinion = ratio 8.5:1
26T Pinion = ratio 7.8:1

With Scorpion motor HKIII 4035-560,
normal= 20T
Hard 3D= 21T
So 560kv seems to be the norm with stock gearing.

It depends what length blades you intend to use and how you intend to fly it as to what gearing you choose but with a 550kv motor and the stock gearing it will do 99.9% of everything!

60% of the time, it works every time!

Hi, I have a different perspective to consider: 18T pinion. You should target between 20-25% motor head room (relative to 4.2v per cell, max rpm of the motor). This will allow the governor to work well with a good balance of power and flight time.

18 tooth pinion for the Goblin 630:
With 2000 RPM you have 19% motor headroom.
Motor will turn 22666 RPM
Gear ratio: 11.3:1

My calculator has been impressively accurate: http://www.MyRcLog.com/Ecalc/
