I rememeber the hay days of the real army/navy surplus on 1st ave downtown seattle and was prolly the real stuff left over from WW2.

Most owners were of jewish decent and a blast to chat with just like the fabulous hauk shops we used to frequent in the late 50s 60s.I still rememeber the neat old drone hanging from the ceiling and bomb ash trays amongst many other fabulous artifacts, even couple german helmuts!

Now a day atleast around here most places like that are gone and is mostly china import garbage or items of no interest Am thinking thiers still some real ones back east that still exist

CAUTION!!! politicians may be hazerdous to your well being

I have always said that once the army/navy stores are gone, so is America. Use to love hanging out in those stores buying all kinds of cool stuff as a kid.

I can remember going with my Dad and seeing racks of .30cal M1 carbines for $35.00 a piece.. Lots of other real "Surplus" stuff not the "made in china to look like USGI" stuff..

If in doubt lean it out . We don't do this to save money, we save money to do this

Got one in the town I work in. Matter of fact, I stopped in there this summer to get a buckle for one of my belts. A belt that I was issued in Basic Training in '95 !!

That belt has had many buckles...but it keeps soldiering on!

They had a lot of authentic used up GI stuff in there. I didn't browse around much, but it seemed like the shops of old that I remember as a kid. I'm sure they had a buncha crap, but most of it seemed legit.
