My guess is there is another side to that story. The young men seemed polite as well as the officer. I get the feeling the neighbor with the Corvette has an axe to grind.

That's when you go down and start a lawnmower and aim the exhaust at the guy who called the police and let it run for hours.

Play a guitar poorly with the amp aimed at the guys house

There are many ways to legally deal with bad people on your block.

a city ordinance like that, i would sell my house and move to a place were you can fix your car on your property. i lived in a hoa that didnt allow car washing and they harassed me one time, the next day i had my house on the market and moved out a month later and told the hoa to suck it. i can now wash my car on my new property freely and i dont have to pay and hoa to tell me not to

Why this has anything to do with police "harassing" this guy is ridiculous. The officer is simply responding to a complaint and an order from his lieutenant. He didn't write the law but he has a duty, like it or not,to enforce it. The guy obviously knew it was coming, judging by his attitude with the officer. He probably had a verbal confrontation with his neighbor after running his pressure washer to clean the POS parked in the driveway.

East coast cops are the biggest gang in town. I live in Chicago area and cops cant hold a candle to the gangs who call themselves cops on the east coast.
I visited Harrisburg pa and the cops held up the guy who was driving me because they saw his car get hit while it was parked. The car was garbage and any dent was irrelevant. - It was as if we commited a crime, they wouldnt let us leave until their sarge came and cleared the scene and that took an hour while they acted like creeps toward us. I will never move towards the east coast.
Summary- our car got its bumper touched, cops saw it and arrested that guy. We showed up later and the cops held us up even though we didnt care about the bumper scratch. Cops were complete @#$%^ and Ive seen enough cops episodes that it all made sense- they are the biggest gang in town.

Btw dont mess with a cop by mentioning that you were just washing your car on private property or you may break his eggshell ego and then youre busted...

You write off the east coast because of 2 cops in Harrisburg PA? That doesnt make much sense.

I've lived on the East Coast in Virginia all my life and I think our cops are pretty laid back for the most part. granted, occasionally you find one or two that are fresh out of the academy and have to prove something but by and large they are pretty cool

but it's OK if you don't like the East Coast, just stay where you are, we have enough tourists here as it is. LOL

Before retiring, I worked around cops of all kinds most of the last 20+ years. This would include state, local, county, etc. Two of my flying friends are cops and there are several cops in the family. I find cops to be pretty much like people in general ..... there are good ones, bad ones and everything in between. I'm sure some cops don't care to enforce some of the laws on the books but they have not choice in most cases.

Where I live we have no regulations on car washing in the driveway but if a neighbor fired up a pressure washer, I might get cranky too depending on how they used it. I really don't care to listen to those things. How about using a bucket, wash mit and a hose to keep peace in the neighborhood.

TruckRacer- What do you do when someone mows there lawn? Lawnmowers are louder than a pressure washer. As long as it's going on during the day and not at all hours of the night, you shouldn't be able to say anything about what I do on my property. I like seeing people wash there cars. It means they take car of them, and if they take car of their cars, chances are they take care of their house and property. And generally, these are people I'd like living in my neighborhood. Now there are exceptions to these rules, but for the most part, when driving through my neighborhood, the one's who haven't washed their vehicle since the Reagan administration have a house in similar shape. And those with nicer, newer, up kept vehicles have the nicer lawns and houses.

Lawn mowers move around the yard where pressure washers just sit in one place and make the same constant noise. Just a personal thing I guess .... don't care to listen to pressure washers. Any washers around here are way louder than the mowers.

Anyway, I'd much rather see a cute young lady out there in her 2 piece dipping her mit into a bucket than some nasty guy with his pressure washer.
