495's
515 max on extended boom on SR and later. Also check blade root size.

I am pretty sure it use 500mm blades. I remember when I fly my Concept 30 that I use Kyosho 500mm Foam Blades.

I forget how blades are measured, modern blades are measured root to tip?

I believe Kyosho blades were measured from bolt hole to tip. It could be the other way around but I forget. You need to know this when buying aftermarket blades. What do 30's run? 530mm? or was it 550? damn I forgot! lol

As balsabasher said, the original DX blades were 495 mm. So 500's should do fine. They were aslo 3 mm hole in 8 mm root. The long tail boom was 20 mm longer and up to 530 mm blades were sold.

As four stroker mentioned, they sold 530mm blades, this was normally measured bolt hole to tip. Just watch out for the "famous" Concept boom strike!
Also the later blade grips moved up to a 12mm root with a 4mm bolt. The stronger SRX/VR grips and hard dampers are the ones to have with the 530 blades.

YSRRider; you have to be careful with blade size. Different factories use both ways of measuring. Such as what is a 600 size heli? Blade size, motor size, or frame size? Or none of the above, we just market it as this size!
Same applies to your 30 heli blade size question. Some could only run 530s and others could go up to 550s. Think Concept 30 vs Raptor 30.

I learned how to auto on a Concept 30 SE. Went through 19 tail booms in one summer. I never could get more than 9 out of 10. This was a really stupid thing to do in retrospect but it was only parts. 85 gram blades don't auto very well and floppy heads aren't forgiving.

Ok, I think thats what it was.... concepts ran 530's but when you ordered them you had to specify the 515's because of they way they measured which would have been bolt hole to tip.

"did the SRT run 550's?"
No, it was a cheaper version with a taller mast and sold as a trainer model. The taller mast was to help with the Concept boom strike. Noobs hitting the ground rough or chopping the throttle resulted in the "BOOM"!

Back then if you wanted to run 550s, you bought a Raptor.

that's exactly what I have but the 530s are too long as in too close to the TR especially with that flapping head , maybe you had an extended boom, mine is 24 in.

those boom supports are up pretty high but know they need to be out of the way of the cone, wonder if they do any good

I have a tail servo bracket on the boom so they might get in the way, hummmm might have to check it out

You have the shorter tail boom for the DX, the 530 mm blades will be too long. My supports are pretty much out of the way. I can start the Concepts with nary an issue. They won't work with a servo mounted on the tail.

Concept tail booms are very thin. You might get away with mounting a micro 500 size servo on one. Supports were not really needed. You were not expecting to do crack smack maniac 3D with this thing were you ?
