This is for you UK guys.

Sometime in the last year, I say a picture of a transmitter balancer that obviously mounted on a vertical (to the face of the transmitter) rod of maybe 5 mm diameter. I thought how odd and what the hell is that good for. Now that I have an XG14E, I need some.

Where can you get the above described item ? I must have seen it on an EU site.

Those are the very rods. I am looking for a balancer thing with several holes that mounts on the rods.

Yes. Something like that which mounts on 5 mm rods with a set screw. I saw just such a thing somewhere.

I am probably way over thinking this thing. I am getting old and my arm goes numb when flying with a neck strap. So I got a Jeti shoulder harness and XG14E. The shoulder harness does not actually relieve your neck unless the transmitter is very low and the underarm straps are tight. That's just how it goes. When adjusted that way the transmitter tilts forward about 10 degrees - because the struts are straignt and pull out. However I think this is OK since the criteria to use is whether your forearm is parallel to the palm rests which it is. You would not want the back of the palm rests digging into your wrist. The struts are straight so that they will fold up behind the transmitter.

You are kind of stuck with the design. I will just fly it and see how it goes. A better design would be flat struts with many holes that fold forward into slots in the transmitter face.

Check your browser history in your browser. Perhaps you'll find the site/page you were looking for. The browser history has saved me on many occasions.

I will fly it like it is for a while. I guess I could mill a hole vertically through a balancer. But thus mounted, the struts won't fold up. I am avoiding having to assemble my transmitter at the field.

I had something called a ROOT KIT (?) and had to reformat my disk.

Somebody in the CNC business should make these pretty. Middle hole works fine. I may shorten the rods 40 mm.

Best and Final. I wacked the rods 34 mm. Had to cut some from the bottom for wrist clearance. But it hangs flat on center hole with Jeti shoulder harness AND folds up to go into the 12Z case in one piece:

Ergonomics is a difficult job.

Thank You....

I just found this thread and wanted to say thank you for this info..
I have been on the fence about trying a tray and it looks as if you have done all the hard work.. I am liking what you have come up with.
