What is a good starting throttle curve for an Airstar Mongoose with Futaba 10C radio.

It has 813 mm Edge blades and Zenoah G270 engine. I am hoping for a headspeed around 1350.

This radio has 7 points to set on both throttle and pitch curves. Thanks.

There are two ways of do a throttle curve on a gasser one is mechanical like this

https://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/...45896&PG=1&IN=1

And keep a straight line in the radio

Or a normal mechanical set-up and numbers like this in your radio

N throttle curve = 0,23,25,27,38,50,100
ID1 = 100,50,38,27,38,50,100
ID2 = 100,80,65,50,65,80,100

P.S. sorry for the spelling or the grammar I am dyslexic!

Throttle curve for Mongoose gasser
My Airstar Mongoose has the carb and throttle sevo on the left side, so it is facing like this.

I will try those throttle curves.

Before, it would hover well below half stick! When I would descend out of a high hover from filming video or taking pics the engine rpm's would get to low and rotor rpm's would droop and I'd have to throttle back up to keep from hitting the ground to stop the descent.

I tweaked them a bit, but engine sounded like rpm's were too high, so I landed right away and reduced them.

But heli has a wobble in it, which may indicate the rpm's are too low.

The Army movers took some of my field equipment; so I don'thave my tachometer to figure out my rpm's.

I will order one this week when I get paid. I think the Mongoose likes around 1200 or 1350 on rpm's.

Thanks for your help. I will test fly with these numbers.

I currently have pitch set at -6, +6 and +11 degrees of pitch. Helicopter does not come off the ground as fast, and rpm's seem too high on both engine and rotors.

Charles
