Hi guys

Iv recently rebuilt my ys 91 srs engine,I managed to changed both the bearings, piston and the ring. The thing which i didnt change was the cylinder sleeve.I broke in the engine with almost 2 gallons of fuel with different heat temps, currently im using rapicon 30 percent and a hatori tuned pipe for the YS.

The problem i am facing now is that im not getting that power out of that engine. Can anyone help me with this problem,Even after leaning the engine there is 40 percent less power.
do you recommend changing the sleeve or wont it make any difference,
what do you guys suggest

Regards

Being the sleeve is about the only thing you didn't replace, and the head didn't have any damage, My guess is change the sleeve as long as you feel carburation and fuel delivery are adequate.
Did you put any cross hatches in the sleeve?
Is it the same Pipe that you used before?
Same fuel?

I would guess it needs time for the new piston, and rings to mate with the sleeve to make full power. Burn some nitro.

That's the answer right there. Piston, sleeve and ring should wear together and remember also that a YS takes a bit more fuel to break in than an OS Burn fuel burn fuel burrrnnnnn fuelllll.

Try more break in and see if it improves.

okay will try it,secondly can you tell me generally that can an engine get the same power after a rebuild and is it better to change the carb also because last time when i rebuilt it it had some dust particles inside the cylinder but i washed it with fuel.
The sleeve also has slight silver scratches on it on the exhaust side.

Probably the scratches in the sleeve is where your power loss is, losing compression.

Eyeball the sleeve and see if there is still crosshatching present. If the sleeve is more or less smooth, the ring won't ever seat and form a proper seal, thus killing power.

The silver scratches you are seeing are more than likely aluminum and deposits from the piston, not scratches? in the sleeve . Some muratic acid from a Home improvement store soaked on a rag will help in removing it. Wear gloves and do it in a well ventilated area.
