If cash wasn't a factor...(you had plenty)

What brand servo would you buy for your next best helicopter build?

How about a ranking in your opinion of the top 3-#1 choice on top.

IE

1) JR?
2) Futaba?
3) Savox?

Just wondering what most people are using today or better yet what they would buy if they had the money to go extreme. I'm more interested in brand name/loyalty/quality then model numbers of the brand you use.

When in doubt....fly higher!

I have used JR cyclic servos for years and probably always will.

I have a HV Savox tail servo and I'm very happy with it but I would prefer a JR servo if I'd had more money the day I bought it.

I literally never use the word literally right.

cool, the servo brand thread again... popping the popcorn now.

I'm officially out of helis and now 100% multis (until I crash off my remaining helis that is), so I don't buy servos anymore. But when I did, my #1 preference was Futaba, especially their brushless servos. So money-no-object always defaults to Fut. BL servos for me.

JR is a very very narrow close 2nd. JR stuff has always been really good also, just Fut. is that extra hair slightly better IMO...

You shouldn't leave Outrage servos out of your choices either.

Always JR Servos.

If they were not available, then Futaba.

If they were not available, then Savox.

JR 8717s first... they have never let me down

Futaba servos second. They have lots of great choices that are very reliable and make the best tail servos IMO

Third... Another set of 8717s

1.) JR

3.) Futaba

I'd rate Futaba 2nd but given all the fanboy nonsense when I inquired about the 9254 tail servo failure I had, they are now 3rd. They would be 4th if they didn't have Dr.Ben on the payroll.

Well thanks for the feedback gents. Looks like the majority likes the Futaba and JR's. I wasn't sure if Futaba had fallen down in the ranks as the years went by (my brand) and maybe some other new fangled servos had come out. I know many others are still very good. I just haven't kept up with a lot of fun flys lately to stay in the loop. I'm hoping to add an electric bird to my single fleet and was wondering what I might buy for that bird. I think my Futaba's are going on 6 years now! gotta love em!

What he ^^^ said

When it comes to brushless technology, and servo output (high resolution and torque) with low power consumption, no ones rivals them. All that and great reliability.

HiTec also has some new great heli servos just this last year.
