How good is Hobbico's hobby services? I sent a helicopter in to them to replace and am wondering how long it will take to get it back.

I just had a stellar good experience with them.
I got a new Helimax Axe 100SSL and it showed up with a dead servo.

I called Tower Hobbies and they sent me a new servo the same day...I mean,a few minutes after the call.

Then they connected me with Hobbico Hobby Services to explain how to change the servo...They explained the process and they also shipped a new servo.

They told me to ship the heli back for a new one and I didn't want to pay shipping.
Then they said they would mail me a postage paid label to return it.
I said that would sure take a while.
Then they asked if I would be willing to change the servo myself and I agreed...They sent the servo and said it would not effect the warranty.

Very reasonable group of people.

The first servo arrived a few days later...Today.
The Axe 100SSL is a blast to fly

I literally never use the word literally right.

This is good to hear. I have been hoping that Hobby Services would improve their customer support to match that offered by Horizon Hobbies. It is a very competitive marketplace now, so the old customer service models have become very outdated.

Last summer I had purchased a brand new OS91HZ, I barely got through a half-gallon of fuel at the default settings and the engine blew up destroying ALL internals.

I sent the motor off to hobby services for repair and was quoted a repair bill of $250. I gave them a call and spoke with a supervisor and explained that this engine was barely 1 month old and it was at all recommended settings so to pay $250 for a motor I had just spend $350 on I wasn't very happy.

After a few minutes of speaking with them, they decided to fully cover the engine under warranty and sent me a brand NIB replacement right away.

After that experience they are OK in my book, but i've known other people that didn't get very good service at all.

I did ask....
After they received the helicopter back, I called in asked how long it would take. They wouldn't give a straight answer. I don't want to be impatient, but its been 4 days since they received shipment, and they have not looked at it. Is this normal? This is the first time that I've bought a helicopter from them. When I had a similar problem with a Compass model, Prostar shipped a replacement immediately after receiving the return.

It's an TT e360. The tail would randomly blow out. We could reproduce the issue on the bench. IT's either the FBL unit itself or the rudder servo.

I have been dealing with Tower Hobbies for over 20 years and have always had great service. I have dealt with at least 10 other online or mail order companies and none even come close to the service I have received from Tower. This last year at IRCHA I had the joy of meeting a Hobbico technical support employee and he was showing a few guys from our club the new Heli Max BlackHawk. In addition to that heli he was showing us the Tactic 6 channel radio. He even allowed everyone the oppurtunity to fly the heli and actually encouraged it. He said it did not matter if it got broken he would just repair it. He explained that not only do they work for Hobbico they are hobby enthusiast. He said they could not provide the support they do without first hand knowledge of how the items they sell work. I later talked with him on the phone for a setup issue related to the Tactic 6 channel radio as I purchased one after feeling the one he showed me at IRCHA. He knew exactly how to answer my questions.

I guess the short answer to this is that in my opinion they are the best.

Best of luck with your heli issue...
