John,

As long as the correct LEDs come on as shown in the setup videos, then you should be good.

The latest firmware is now up on http://curtisyoungblood.com/V2/content/stingray-500

We suggest everyone update. You do not have to reprogram the machine after updating. Just update and go fly.

Out of curiosity, the "tail" seems to slide to a stop rather than hard stop like you'd be accustomed to in a heli. Is this Normal Behavior or should the gain be increased?

Eury,

We did not do a change log. This version fixes an issue we found in the channel communication with some receivers. It could cause radio glitches. This version fixes that.

Eric,

The tail should stop solid, you might want to check the rotor grips as suggested in this video. If the grips are binding a little it and make the machine overall not as crisp.

Watch at YouTube

Also check to make sure the rotor bases are tight on the leg booms. Just use a Philips screw driver and make sure the screws in the bases are tight.

What is the flight time on this baby? I read it uses a 2200 to 3000 4s battery. I'm curios to know with FPV equipment and without it flying acrobatic?

Vigor10 - I believe it is a dual rate adjustment. That is what I just listened to in the setup video.

Curtis recommended 75% to start and increase from there for a faster response.

Here is the YouTube link & @ 11:00 min into Curtis discusses the Control Rate adjustment

theriddick45,

For FPV it depends on how much weight you add. On mine with basic FPV recevier and camera it gets 5 minutes of gentle FPV on a 2200 pack. I do not have a 3000 but on my 3600 i get anout 7.5 minutes of gentle FPV. For more aggressive aerobatic FPV I get about 6 minutes on the 3600.

I'm running Glacier 4s 3300 packs. I've got the timer set at 6 minutes and put back in the range of 2300 so I could go more. With the Gopro on it flying aerobatics 6 minutes takes 2600.

Had a blast flying mine today and my first broken part. The landing gear gets brittle in cold weather, both snapped landing today. I kept flying anyway, just propped it up on a piece of wood for takeoff.

Was out with my kid and our brushless SC-10 truck. It claims to go 50 mph so we did some racing. I'd put it into Idle 1 at 0 pitch and he'd say go and hit it, I'd do a standard heli drag racing takeoff. Smoked him every time. We had a great time doing it. We did a few out and backs, and I was faster there too. It was huge fun playing like that with my son.

When I got home I dug through my spare parts bin and came up with a T-rex 450 Pro landing gear set. Cut it into 2 pieces, drilled a couple of holes and mounted it up. I like how it looks, it also feels a bit sturdier than the stock stuff.

I love my Stingray!

I came across something interesting today as well for single line hookup into a Jeti receiver (just transitioned my Stingray over to the DS-16 yesterday). As it is they don't talk to each other via single line. However, I read that the new firmware update for the Jeti receivers will add UDI, which is apparently the same protocol as JR X-Bus. WHen that firmware comes out I'll update the RX in the Stingray and report back if it works.

Eury,

Let us know if that works. We hope to have the Jeti protocal so we can make the TG Multi talk to it as well, but that is not available yet.
