I sure can't find much on the Stingray 500. I have searched the web, and not much talk. I have flown helis, but consider myself a rookie. This still looks like a stable platform so I am going to try one. I wish there was more flight information out there. I like to know flight characteristics not just from the pros so I know what to expect. Please let me know how it goes.

I haven't seen much posted either, but I can say that I love mine. I've got a couple dozen flights on it and every time I go out I have a ton of fun with it. Flies like a heli, just more stable. The only thing that is really different is the yaw rate is much slower than a heli.

Here's a video I threw together from my Gopro on it. I apologize for the music, it's the theme from the new Call of Duty game, and I had it stuck in my head while throwing the video together.

It may be the most fun RC vehicle I've owned.

Video removed - modified version below.

I'd be honored if you did Curtis. Let me mix in different music first. A fun video of my kid running around and playing needs a less angry soundtrack. I'll remix it and post a new version tonight.

Thanks for designing the Stingray, it's a real game changer. I've never had anything quite like it.

Here's a slightly remixed version with music more appropriate to a video of my son running around.

This was made from the test flights we discussed on Rcgroups to find the best method of mounting my gopro with the case on it. When I fly around my Jeep and most of the stuff after is without the Velcro strap around it Nd you can see some wobbling in the video. The first 3/4 is with the strap and it is solid.

Feel free to share it.

That's cool, thanks for sharing. Mine is built, just haven't had a chance to take it out, hopefully on the weekend. What camera do you have on there?

For folks running Futaba... How much expo are you running? I got a quick hover in the darkness last night and with the dual rates at 80 and no expo, it was definitely sensitive to your input

It is best to wait on the latest update. We are making some important changes and it is best to have the latest updates.

When I built mine last week I updated it to the firmware that was on the site. Excited to see what the new one will do, the one I have works great, about the only thing I'd like to we changed is PPM input so I could single line a Jeti receiver into it.

So I just finished setting up my Stingray on my XG14 using XBus. I had to lower the travel adjustments on the throttle low end to 110% and the upper end to 125% to get the okay on my flight controller. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Thanks,
John
