Hey Rich well its official my 412 is an American now, no longer a foreign helicopter in me fleet. Lol my boss gaveme the day off today so last night iI started working and it and man I hate sanding but it was worth it. No more Canadian SAR, now shes LAFD #1 and the painting came out better then I excepted. Thanks to my buddy Oscar who pre made the vinyl for the lettering and I decided to paint them on and not just use the vinly, except the tail numberiI had the use. But now im just finishing up on the last sliding door and
She is done

Not ready for paint yet but it's getting there

Just need to finish the little details. It's it hard to know when to stop sometimes 😁

I think working on the 407 would be a nice break from this damn flu LOL

How did you prepare the fuse for repainting without hurting any of the scale details already on there?

Thanks

That was the easy part Roy being the fuse already had good paint on it I just needed to litely sand the fuse with 600grit to the clear coat of the original paint to have the new paint stick. And I used automotive paint and clear not store brand rattle can paint. Cause it stick to what ever u spray and if u let I dry at least 30 in between u can tape it and add more paint and it dosnt peel up. Even when I used the vinly lettering on the boom I first painted it white after it dried I applied thw vinyl lettering and then painted all red after the RED dried,Ittook my time peeling the vinyl off so that the lettering show in white thur the RED and it come out really sweet. With this kind of paint I can use a heat gun to dry it faster and not make the paint crack or peel so when needing to layer the paint it dosent take forever. And thw two part clear coat make for a super shineing finish that looks gorgeous in the sun.and last a long time. Hey Roy can u post again the pic u have of the P.R. police heli ur planning to do.I also did the same thing on my 407. It was the blue and gold when I first got and now she still has a bright shiney paint job that atill looking awsome today even with have well over 150 flights on my 407.and now this weekend im picking up a second 407 fuse that I couldnt past up it a V1 but its in brand new conditions and never been built and i got it cheap. So now im debating qhat paint scheme I want to do on this one .

What are you guys using to assemble the wooded structures on you 407? Planning on using epoxy, is this over kill or will CA glue work as well?

well Rich I guess im not build the denver aircare. I just sold the fuse to a friend of mine that works as a medic for Orange County fire department. And also a RC flier but not a builder. He want to have me build him four of the local community agency helis so the first two is going to be another chase two exactly the same as mine, and a BK117 OCFD fire star rescue, and ec135 Florida hospitals aircare, and first flight also 135, he order BK should be here by next week joe from East coast vario is sending it to me directly. So have my hands full foe the rest of the year with these 4 helicopters. Amd at the same time this will fund two other projects ive been wanting to do.
