I have a Swift 16 that I installed in an Approach Engineering Cobra fuselage a few years back. Anyways I would like to go flybarless and was wondering if I could still use the original rotor hub without the flybar and it's mixers? And obviously have to add a 3-axis controller.
Thanks,
Tom

Lots of people have done that, may just need to put longer arms/links on the grips to help with the geometry, and put hard dampers in the head.

I cant find the link (well over 5 years ago) and forgot who but someone here had posted a video on how he cut/modified the long part of the plastic washout arm and used lots of expo in radio to make up for the lack of a fbl unit onboard. This was when the FBL CNC washout alone were $40 back then and before being integrated into the main hub as some have it now.

The A arms for the main grips will not line up with the main shaft and the geometry will be off as mentioned.

That being said...it can be done.

how ever...that all being said, getting the swift metal flybarless head will be way easier and better looking. I have one on mine, its pretty nice.

Thank you guys for the information.
The way the dog house is constructed around the main shaft I need all the height difference between the rotor and the top of the led light that is on top of the dog house. As it is the flybar whacked the light already and I will have some repairs to put into affect.
So is the Swift aluminum hub shorter than the stock hub?

Indeed the cnc head is the way to go. Yes, the hub is shorter but Century carries longer shaft for scales. Call them.
